The Question of Ryan Tannehill - Bill Barnwell

I'm not sold on Wilson, Tannehill or 2014 Tom Brady. I'm sold on Payton Manning and Tom Brady of 2009-2012. Right now ignoring all other things T'hill had an 81 QBR last year. He threw 100 more passes with 2 fewer TDs than Wilson. I just can't grade Wilson on just 250 passes thrown. T'hill's int's set him in the lower echelon. Hopefully, his team is good enough to this year where he doesn't have to make poor decisions. If T'hill can get to 10-13 int's, he will rise to the 87-90 QBR we need him to be at.

 Yeah I think he was pretty clearly taking a shot at the Weedenator.

Actually I was taking a shot at the poster who claimed that a team wouldn't admit so soon to a mistake on a first round QB, but obviously I was referring to Weeden. I just shake my head sometimes at what gets posted here.

We'll just have to disagree on the amount of difference the supporting cast can make.

I'll add one other area where we seem to disagree on, how much Wilson is helped by not being the focus of opposing defenses. I think it is very significant and combined with the crap that Tannehill dealt with, easily can account for a 20 point difference. Tannehill at 91 with a better supporting cast and Wilson at 91 while being the focal point of the offense is not only possible but likely IMO.

So there we are, still. Let's let things play out over the next few seasons and find out. I'll add one more thing. I've said on numerous occasions that there is no guarantee that Tannehill improves significantly with a better supporting cast, but given what I have observed with my own eyes, I think it is likely.

For the love of God look up sarcasm in the dictionary.

That's OK, man. I'm not going to egg your house if Tannehill busts.

257 completions last season. 407 attempts.

Seemed to me that your argument was getting out of hand... I liked the fact that you decided to respectfully put out a well thought out post instead of continuing the back and forth... Great post man!

I hate pettiness, but I'm not immune to it. Thanks.

Uhhhhhhhh wut?

Wilson threw 407 passes last year. He completed 252.

Tannehill improved from year one to year two. That's all I care about. Does he need to improve more, yes. Give him props for playing well behind a crap line and no run game.

That chart is one of the very best efficiency graphics I have EVER seen.

Tannehill now will have Landry, who will absolutely LIVE IN and OWN that weak-side middle+ zone (the orange area). You can't hit the deep patterns (to Wallace or anyone else) from your back. Tactical improvements to the offense and better line play will give us a very good QB in 2014 IMO.
