The reason McCoy thinks he didnt get the job.

Armando is full of ****. He hasn't talked to McCoy and really doesn't have any idea why he wasn't selected.

That whole article was crap. There are many, many more factors that Ross and Company are taking into account when interviewing these candidates. And, regardless, it is hard to believe that any boss/owner would throw that down a candidates throat during the interview process.

not sure whats crap we will never know but its a possibility.

Don't start making excuses for Ross and Philbin until this investigated more. Our boy La Canfora was saying this PRIOR to Philbin getting the job.

Hate to say it, but if this is true, what option does that make Philbin? Cowher, Gruden, Fisher....McCoy? Philbin...5th option?

I really hope that is not true.

That article is all speculation and full of his love for McCoy. Can't these guys ever report facts?

Armando is the Perez Hilton of sports reporting - but without the credible sources!

It doesn't necessarily mean that McCoy was in front of Philbin at all - only that this was yet another reason to disqualify his candidacy.

You understand that if the perception in the locker room is that Joe did not pick his staff and that the people in the FO DID, the FO might have just emasculated their new hire? Perception is reality.

Why would the players listen to the HC when in reality the owner's box is really where the power lies with the team?

I kind of hope Bowles DOES NOT get the DC job now for Joe's sake.

Ok...Seriously, I hope you are right. But, if it comes out that it did DSQ McCoy, then we have sunk to a new a low as a franchise.

Philbin has been around long enough to know how the power structure in an organization works and how to deal with players and you where the one saying the players had a lot of respect for Bowles.

Perception is not reality. Reality is what actually happens.

If people actually believed perception was reality then you'd be susceptible to all sorts of cognitivie biases.. Oh wait. FH is lousy w/ cognitive biases then so is most the media. I'll be checking of reality now. Send my bill to...

LeBeau & Omar Epps (I mean Tomlin).

I am going to need a link saying that the Rooney family forced Tomlin to keep LeBeau. Tomlin might have wanted him, but I have a hard time thinking he was forced. Does not usually happen. In Dallas maybe?

Still struggling with the fact McCoy was not selected hey?

We will never know but I dont believe much this front office says esp after their explanation for last years convo with harbaugh

The more I read about McCoy, the more I'm glad we didn't hire him. He just seems to lack professionalism, openly talking to the media about his position with a franchise that he isn't even a part of. I thought it last week when his agent said he was confident he was the outstanding candidate and then he turned down the Raiders job because he was sure he was getting the Miami job. Glad we chose Philbin.

for some reason, and i dont know why, but he reminds me of josh mcdaniels
