The system is Rigged!

I doubt that it's rigged, but I think that it's a sham that certain suspensions are getting reduced like this.
We are not allowed to know what substances certain players tested positive, but OK let's change the rules along the way because we really want to test for HGH, and it's urgent.
The Commissioner is really a politician (his father was a NY Senator) and everything is done for image and to make money. I yearn for a responsible and competent leader not fixated on NFL profitability. Goodell and the NFLPA have dragged their feet on HGH testing for years but now it's a priority. Why?

i thought WELKER was busted for amphetamine/meth?

if that is true and the other guys were all booted for an over the counter banned substance then THAT is a sham and it is rigged.

the meth, weed and crack bungholes should get a year off and then a life ban from the nfl after the second. hgh and steroids and artificial steroids are banned and for good reason, but they are no where near and in NO WAY should be lumped in with the narcotic shoveling dirt bags.

Exclude weed from that statement. Weed is not a bad substance. Especially when compared to crack and meth.

I'm inclined to agree that there are preferred franchises. the DeBartolo/York clan, Bowlen, & Kraft have sucked up to Roger G like they did to Paul T.

Then, there is the real, honest to God, true, evil empire... A few yrs ago whenever James Harrison, Polalamu, etc... would get in trouble for an illegal hit? Off they'd go to talk w/ Commish and that would be that. The steal city mafia obviously has something on the whole da*n league.

Ask yourself have Blount & Bell been punished yet? They probably got a good lecture by Tomlin who looks like he could visine alot of the time too.

At least we won't have to face Adrian Peterson this year. That would have sucked for the Patriots to get the mulligan and everybody else in the division gets screwed by facing him.

Wouldn't it be interesting to learn that someone in the Montgomery County prosecutor's office has a law degree from Harvard?

If all his moves are done for image then he must REALLY suck at his job!:chuckle:

The effective date is rather arbitrary and benefits a few. It would have been better if the new rules would start next year. That the NFL is rigged to some extend we have known since Spygate. The NFLPA is as rigged as the NFL. They too look out for the few impact players.

With that of course you have that ominous NFL Excempt/Commisioner's List. Peterson has been placed on that list and most likely will continue to collect his paycheck. A way for a team to circumvent punishment by the NFL, get the player of the active roster without releasing him. Hardy and Dwyer will go on that list as well.

In the real world you would lose your job. But not in the NFL.
I think the NFL needs really an oversight committee from the outside and has to be held accountable. The idea back then to give the NFL all these exemptions (not-for-profit, anti-trust laws etc) was good. It was an upstart league. But as greed, corruption increased over the years I think people have to reconsider these exemptions. There is no way that an organization makes billions of dollars in revenue and pays no taxes and has the guts to dip into tax payer money everywhere while out-pricing the fans and protecting bad apples because they sell jerseys and tickets.
