The Trenches win games.

Its interesting, because both sides of the conversation have a point.

Of course there are red flags. Every team has red flags. Posters are allowed to be positive despite the red flags. That doesn’t make them delusional or “Kool-Aid drinkers.” It makes them optimistic.

And if names and generalizations start getting lobbed one way, you can be pretty certain they’re gonna get lobbed back.

Ah, a "lobotomy". - LOL

We are Dolphin fans and in a thread about worrying about the trenches should not invite people to attack our worries about a certain parts of our team. We haven't won a playoff game in decades and what we post here doesn't affect the team at all. It's the offseason so any chatter outside of personal attacks should be welcomed. We can still talk about hopeful/optimistic outlooks on the topic but our track history alone should warrant any pessimism about certain areas in our team. If you don't like what's posted on here just go to another thread. I personally can't comprehend how people can delude themselves that there aren't red flags but I'm not gonna call out posters because they're drinking the koolaid. But at the very least this 1st game should tell us something about one side of the trenches (O-line). And I'll always hope for the best in our team, just can't feel good about everything on our team because I'm a Dolphin fan.

It's not only what you say, but the way you say it, "bitch, bitch, bitch".

:( We all knew in our hearts we would struggle in the trenches. And honestly, even though our D line has played well I see us struggling in the pass rush as the season progresses especially with our offense keeping them in the field with our inept offense.

Maybe, maybe not, but I think the signing of Chubb and Ramsey cost us Wilkins and Hunt. I think I’d prefer Wilkins and Hunt.

I'd rather have an elite D Line than an elite secondary in today's pass pro offense. It's all about pressuring the QB into mistakes. Ramsey is nowhere near the consistent force Wilkins was. We are going to regret this for a while.

I agree. A d-line that can harass the QB without blitzing by rushing only four guys makes it a lot easier on the secondary, so there's little need to pay big bucks for so-called elite CBs. Unfortunately, Grier pretty much ignores the trenches and hands out huge contracts to CBs.

You could argue Calais is playing better than Wilkins at this point. Obviously it’s a short term solution.
