The UDFA thread...

PA really had a Gov Mifflin? As in Dunder Mifflin? lol. Shillington is really the name of a town there?

Yes, Governor Thomas Mifflin, Pennsylvania’s first Governor. His farm land that sat in what is now Shillingtom, a small little suburban city outside of Reading, Pa’s city limits. It’s pretty far from Scranton.

Penn State’s RB and former national HS player of the year, Nick Singleton went there. With a strong junior year he should be one of the top RB prospects, next year. He’s a big dude.

Could be. We'll see soon enough. I respect your opinion, but I'm personally rooting for Eich's departure.
That's a strange thing to "root for" as a fan.

Wouldn't it be better to root for him to make a big jump as a player, and help the franchise?

I understand if one doesn't believe in the ability of a player. That is a different thing than actively rooting for him to fail, IMO

You would think, as Ajax did this past season. Easier pill to swallow to see a player develop and become decent, instead of well crap we wasted that draft pick.

He had a shuttle of 4.40 and a cone of 7.14 at his Pro Day. I wonder why they left them out? All his numbers are from his Pro Day. He wasn't a Combine invite.
Miami likes this kid. He's the one UDFA I think could truly develop into something. He just might stick.

Storm Duck is perfect, that's your starting NFL corner, 6-0 195, ran 4.43, jumped 39" and 11-02. That is day 1 corner if you did not know.

Matt Jones is the best guard on the roster, maybe Driscoll is better, but that is the starting right guard.
This guy Matos has a great frame for a starting left tackle 6-7, 313, great athleticism, ran 4.95 40, that is first round. Maybe he is like Patrick Paul with 37" arms, too long to play football, there is no info on that.

Mark Perry at 213/6-0, ran 4.43 at pro day, jumped 37 and 10-11. Those are starting numbers.

Those three guys should be shoo ins for 53 roster.

I’m as down on Eichenberg as the next guy, but look at how this fanbase mostly viewed Austin Jackson going into his third season (and rightfully so). Eichenberg hasn’t exactly had it easy in terms of development. He came in mostly taking tackle reps as a rookie, then bounced around and got pushed into a backup center gig in his second season in a position where he’s never played before. I thought he did a much better job at RG and that may be his more natural position.

Could be wrong but didn’t he go through two OL coaches in just his first offseason here? Let’s see what Butch can do with the kid focusing on just one position (hopefully). You never know. This is a guy who went x amount of snaps in his collegiate career without giving up a single sack.

It wouldn’t surprise me if he became at least an average starter at right guard which would be an upgrade over what we endured at the position in 2023 when Hunt went down.

Eich/Jones/Drischoll….. need one of those guys to be a league average starting right guard in 2024 or maybe we sign a vet. The coaching staff obviously likes Robert Jones.

I’m confident in Butch. I know that much.

Hasn't Jones primarily played on the left side?

Wynn starts at LG. IMO, Winner of Jones/Driscoll starts at RG, and loser backs up both Guard spots. Where does Eichenberg fit?

Eich, Cotton, Hines are squarely on the roster bubble. Eich's $4m salary doesn't help him.
Backing up everywhere. He has experience at center, guard and tackle so there's value.

You're getting me excited. 😉😉😉

I agree about both Matthew Jones and Mark Perry. I thought they'd have been draft worthy.
