Teams love to give away there "good QB's"
Why do people think free agent qbs that used to be starters are any better than what we got? Gus and AJ are not great but Warner, Bledsoe, Garcia, arent really any better. Everyone would agree that Griese is better than all those people and we HAD HIM AND WERE NOT PATIENT!!! We need to be patient, not Fiedler patient but patient.:yell:
 
Another couple of drafts like this one and a top QB should be enough to get us over the top.This is not a one year plan.There will be a big improvement in this team in 2006 and then we should be challenging for a SB in 2007.

Manny Wright and Vickerson are OLD DT's??? Both look young and promising to me.

Vernon Carey, Rex Hadnot, and Damon McIntosh are pretty youthful o-linemen with bright futures! Jeno James isn't going anyplace.

This team is far from perfect but isn't as bad as you make it out to be.

His name is Omar Jacobs, grab him next year. If you can't Omar Jacobs or Leinart or Vince Young if he has a breakouit year, then just go get a GREAT LT. It's that simple. Anything other than WR next year, and QBs after Jacobs/Leinart is great.

Last year at this time we had no WR's, no RB's, no o-line, an old defense, no kick returner, a terrible coach and GM, and no depth anywhere.

As of today, we have a bunch of quality WR's, too many RB's, an o-line that is improving, a young innovative coach, a defense that we added some youth too (Crowder, Roth, Daniels, Wright, Vickerson..etc), a great kick returner among other positives.

If we had a quarterback today, we would be talking playoffs. No doubt. But, on the other hand.....in a year we have made huge strides in rebuilding this team. And if we can now just add that final piece of a QB......we are set. We are almost there.

Just don't go get a quarterback who's last name starts with the letter "F" and we will be fine!

We are almost there........really we are! I'm not saying tank the season or anything, but another year of picking near the top of the draft would do wonders for us for years to come. And if we do only win 4, 5, or 6 games this year....then we are in prime position to have another good offseason. (not rooting for us to only win those number of games, just saying IF we only win about that number of games)

Good one Mike-O, nice thoughts. We are a year or two away but that's OK with me if the team makes some progress.:)
 
7-9 or maybe 8-8 this year and playoffs next year. Check out mt "season predictions game" thread and get in on all of the hot action.
