The ULTRA-POSITIVE spin

We just need to have a QB on our team that isn't from another teams "scrub" list.

No kidding, what have these people been thinking for the past 7 or 8 years. We should have groomed some one while we had Marino for god sake. Every year it continues to be a scrub the feelings get stronger

Look at things this way.......

Last year at this time we had no WR's, no RB's, no o-line, an old defense, no kick returner, a terrible coach and GM, and no depth anywhere.

As of today, we have a bunch of quality WR's, too many RB's, an o-line that is improving, a young innovative coach, a defense that we added some youth too (Crowder, Roth, Daniels, Wright, Vickerson..etc), a great kick returner among other positives.

If we had a quarterback today, we would be talking playoffs. No doubt. But, on the other hand.....in a year we have made huge strides in rebuilding this team. And if we can now just add that final piece of a QB......we are set. We are almost there.

Just don't go get a quarterback who's last name starts with the letter "F" and we will be fine!

We are almost there........really we are! I'm not saying tank the season or anything, but another year of picking near the top of the draft would do wonders for us for years to come. And if we do only win 4, 5, or 6 games this year....then we are in prime position to have another good offseason. (not rooting for us to only win those number of games, just saying IF we only win about that number of games)

if my mind is not failing me i beleive you were accused in another thread of being a pessimist. what going on???

Good point. At this time last year, the glass wasn't half full, or even half empty, it was flat out empty. I can comfortably say the glass is half full again in my mind's eye. It's full enough to pay the extra dough for the NFL package on satellite, if that's a true indicator.

wait a minute. the receivers we have now were here last season. what we didnt have here in regards to receivers was charlie baggett.

Well you have to see how Gus does this year. If he's competent keep him for a couple years or so while we develop our new QB. If not then we sign a veteran QB that's gotten cut that WAS A STARTER the year before. A possibility could be Steve McNair if we make a deal for him since Volek is gaining favor in Tenn.

It's not even a spin, bad choice by me for thread title.

It's being honest.

People confuse being positive or negative with being honest.

Not a bad post, not a bad post at all.

WE didn't get Gilmore till the middle of last season. Boston we didn't have last year he was hurt before the 1st preseason game. And we picked up Booker by the 3rd or 4th preseason game and he had no time to work with our 1st team offense before the games counted for real. Hence, we had no WR's this time last year.

Someone tell MikeO that someone has compromised his password and is posting under his screen name. I guess the real MikeO must be on vacation. j/k

No, see I'm honest. When I see a 4-12 team like last year, I'm not going to go out of my way to find nice and rosey things to say when there are none. Some people are into that, I'm not.

When I see what I see today when it comes to the Dolphins I speak the truth. And I see a team moving in the RIGHT DIRECTION!!!! Doing good things!!! Far from being complete but at least on the right track!

Some people want everything sugar coated. I guess it helps them sleep at night or makes them feel proud about rooting for a bad team. I root for the Fins. Good or Bad. If they suck I will say they suck and are going in the wrong direction. When things are looking promising, I will say such. As I did with this post.

I don't care if people think I am always negative or trying to stir things up. I'm not. I post my opinion. Agree or disagree (in a respectful manner) and its all good. I don't make posts to try and make friends here or win a popularity contest. I don't care if you like me or hate me. I post my opinion, we can be adults about it and agree or disagree like adults. Or we can resort to namecallaing and such, and I will sink to that level and play that game.

You took the words right out of my mouth. We are a quarterback, one more draft/free agency period, and a year of playing in this defense away from the playoffs. Look at the Patriots in Bill's first year. They won what, 4 or 5 games. The next year, they draft Brady, gets his break with Bledsoe going down and he becomes a Gem and look where they are.

That defense had a year playing in the system both offensive and defensive and a good young quarterback to lead a bunch of above average WR's and really nothing at the RB position..

You said it.. we have Brown and Williams, We have Bookers, Chambers, and Boston, not to mention a possible top 5 or so pick in the draft and free agency .. I think that's a good base to begin this thing with.. not throwing in the towel on this year either.. just not as depressed about the direction we're heading as some others.. good job MikeO

Generally speaking, most sports fans (especially those that are "die hard" enough to go out of their way to post on a fan-forum website) are optimistic about their team.
