The unsung hero in win over Raiders

I'm shocked people didn't give them **** for the 4th and inches call and Tannehill is in shotgun. The play worked for a TD but if it got stuffed I'd understand the criticism of starting the play 4 yards from the line (shotgun) when you only have inches to go.

Oh I did in the chat.

Should have run the QB sneak but it worked so how can I second guess that?

We also got a bad spot on that 3rd down play.

Yea no runs on third and ten was nice

Jenkins also had a nice game at lb... And considering his preseason performances I thought Dallas thomas was decent enough

The 1st half was great. The offense I saw in the 2nd half was the offense we've seen all year. If it not for the Defense, people might not be so forgiving to overlook a poorly executed 2nd half game plan.

Quite frankly, the offense played to not lose the game after halftime. I blame the players and staff.

I'm glad for the win, but let's be realistic. How many times have we seen this team play flat, uninspired and without fire. Make no mistake, we won, but the prevailing problems are still apparent.

Philbin proved this week that we are an uninspired team. We only play when called out or when we've positioned ourselves behind the 8 Ball off the field and on the field. This team still takes plays, series and halfs off. We cannot find a true winning way until some player on this team with fire in his gut starts making us play every snap with a desire to win a Super Bowl. Right now, only Moreno has shown that fire.

Last year we responded to Bully Gate and positioned ourselves for a playoff birth. Once the Bully Gate media attention faded, so did we.

Philbin sparks a controversy about his QB and his team executes flawlessly for the first half of a game. Once matters seem to be in hand, we let up.

The problem is still there. Enjoy the win everyone. It was nice to see us in the positive media for once and today was pretty good. Now we can go into the bye, lick our wounds, bolster our roster with returning difference makers (Moreno, Pouncey, Jordan and Jones) and regroup. But let's hope the fire is found by this team to completely change the fortunes of this team.

At the 1/4 way point in the season, I would like to give a shout out to Samson Satele and Daniel Thomas. Satele stabilized the line and allowed us to run our offense until Pouncey returns. And Daniel Thomas has played with desire, purpose and a competitive edge lacked in nearly his entire career previously. They stepped in and kept this team moving forward. Now, we're .500 and headed into a bye week. We've been without some major pieces up until now, installed a new offense, endured QB controversy and assembled a completely new offensive line in the first 4 weeks. Thanks for be professionals when we needed it.

Thanks to Branden Albert for anchoring this OL and being the best LT in the NFL. And a big thanks for showing us the very first Hug tackle in the NFL! That was hilarious!

Thanks to Ja'wuan James for being an absolute professional beyond years and solidifying the RT position from DAY 1.

I'd like to finish with saying Jarvis Landry needs to be taken off of special teams. Call LaMichael James and give him the KR/PR and 4th RB duties.

You should've heard the Raiders feed.

Every OC calls a great game when the QB executes.

When the QB plays like dog****, the play calls are terrible.

I have noticed that trend.

Not really. Lazor has called pretty good games so far. There have been a few lolwut plays but the main reason we were stinking was due to QB inaccuracy and drive-killing decision making by many of the players. Lazor is a good coach.

The double reverse was awful, awful, awful.

But you notice what he used today? Play action from under center with the QB rolling out to his right. Ryan Tannehill is good at that. It's infuriating that Sherman rarely called that sort of play, and that Lazor hadn't really done so until today. Hopefully Bill will realize that it works and stick with it.

Many of us have been calling for that for 2+ years. I also think the mix of runs by Tannehill was about right. Hopefully a sign of things to come.

double reverse was a terrible play call when you didnt need it...liked how lazor got the tight ends outside in space on those wr screens...made a big difference blocking wise...was calling for that earlier

not a big fan of 4th and the football lining up that far off the ball but they made it work...sneak that damn thing

You are seriously going to say that receivers weren't more open today? That the play calls weren't better? The rollouts by the QB, read option runs by the QB, they've all been there all season?

I honestly don't think you watch the games. You are really all in on the Tannehating. I hope he is the Dolphins QB for 20 years, just to torment you.

Don't think he will have to worry about that.

This will be Tanne's last season. Because we don't play the Raiders more than once a year.

When they lined up in shotgun on that 4th and inches i was oging nuts!! Luckily we got it.

liked how they got jamar taylor some run as the starting nickle boundary cb...can never be too prepared for a cb injury get him some looks...adjustment on specials was to play more starters in coverage units...seemed to work...michael thomas kicked ass in that unit

will davis got a little selfish on the double move td...no doubt going for a pick 6 took the bait no help over the top...i shudder to think how he will fare vs the physical wrs coming up on the schedule...but i shudder about that with finnegan and grimes also

I though the double reverse was fine. It was on first down, and it would have worked for a nice gain if Clay had held a block for 2 seconds. Lazor must have seen that the Raiders CBs were watching the run game. He was right.

I'm also fine with the 4th an inches play. We aren't going to sneak the ball behind Samson Satele and Dallas Thomas. We are lucky if those guys get a stalemate on every run play.

nah you don't need that double reverse you are torching them right down the field...just keep doing what got you there instead of getting cute...misread by the oc...ball changing hands 3 times in the backfield when you dont need to do it

do think i saw lamar miller show a little backside cut back vision yesterday...daniel thomas and damien williams also...that was nice...millers definitely falling forward more this year...so that weight gain has helped there for sure...more hit and fall forward on contact
