The value of getting luck is >>>>>>>>>>> than beating the jets...

Does Tim couch ring a bell.

Sound a lot like Luck.

Just saying you never know.

He;s a much better prospect than Couch but still nothing is guaranteed.

Sorry, but as much as i want a new coach, qb, gm, and everything else, i cannot help myself from wanting the Dolphins to kill the Jets !!!

If you listen to the video it sounds alot like this year. Couch lead a strong (supposidly) QB draft class. Cann't miss drafted by the Browns to take them to many superbowls.
By all accounts Luck is a great prospect. NOTHING is guaranteed. Not even Luck.

Come back after you lose tonight and we'll discuss it :chuckle:

you'd still have the same cluless folks running your organization, get good football people in, get good coaching and you'll turn that franchise around.

THAT is our problem, nyjunc is correct. We are assuming Luck would have a new coach---but imagine what Sparano would do to Luck's confidence and learning curve---even assuming Ireland would draft him and not another O-lineman.

Not really. Manning was going number one. His number one status lasted two years. He was looked at as the safest pick and a franchise qb. Leaf came on toward the end and certain people were enamored with his arm. He definitely wasn't looked at as the same type of sure thing as manning. Leaf had many detractors while manning had practically none.

Luck is a once in a generation type prospect. Not since Elway has a qb been as highly touted as luck and that includes manning. There is absolutely no comparison between this guy and leaf, Carr, couch, Russell or any of these other busts. If we are to suck this is the best year to do it

Manning was definitely seen as the safer pick. However, he had plenty of detractors. There was a feeling that he had "peaked" and might not get better. His huge failures in college against the Gators also created a lot of questions if he could win the big game and if he was a bit of a choker.

But we are gonna have a new coach. And if we have luck they are going to be lining up. You want cowher? We will have a helluva better shot a convincing him to come if we have luck. Coaches will be dying to coach this kid

I wouldn't say he had many detractors. In fact his loudest detractors were gator fans. They were the ones screaming that he couldn't win big games. But than again they were arrogant enough to believe that the only reason manning went back his senior year was to beat florida. The actual scouts and talent evaluators had him as one the highest rated prospects in years.

He did have people picking him apart for his big game failures(which have carried over to the NFL by the way) and for being too robotic. There was a real debate about that #1 pick.

There was never a debate about that pick. Everyone knew the colts were taking manning. The only debate that was created was by espn who were trying to create some sort of buildup leading to the selection. Espn is notorious during the draft in trying to create drama and uncertainty even when none exists.

Every qb gets dissected to find flaws and while manning had some they were still far fewer than almost every other qb taken in years. The thing is Andrew luck has even less. One of mannings biggest flaws coming out was his mobility. Luck doesn't have that issue. Someone said earlier, he's got peytons arm and head and Rodgers feet. I'll take my chances.

Maybe Indy always knew but there was plenty of debate everywhere not just on espn.

This was really funny, Vaark! On a serious note, would you be happy if we do land Luck?
