The View From the Other Side (Houston)

These are quotes from Texans players and coaches. What did you expect them to say, "The Phins suck, we're going to smoke them" ? Most teams other than perhaps the Jets are going to say exactly what those guys said.

Then again, Wes Welker said we are a good team and tough and that winning the second one will be harder to come by.

Translation: We cought you with your hurry up pants down.

And these are not simple quotes of political correctness. If you pay attention to some of the things they are actually saying they are saying they have their hands full. We are different. We dont run Wildcat. We spread it out. They are saying things that are obvious. how bout you? They obvious to you? Prob not.

Houston fans comments from various sites:

Texans defense isnt incredible, but Collins cant get rid of the ball quickly like Manning. Unfortunatly for the fins, Henne has exactly the same problem. With Williams in his face all game, i doubt he'll come up with the yards he put out against the pats

Chad Henne is the greatest thing since pepsi throwback, or jolly ranchers
Hey Hey no need to insult jolly ranchers....

which would be worse for Miami? giving up over 500 passing yards to Brady? or giving up over 200 rushing yards to the Texans?

Texans 38 Minnows 20

Lol. Even if the dophins can manage to pull off a win, the texans wont score less than 34 points against Miamis poor secondary, plus Foster.
Texans 34-21

I guess the Miami fans need the Texans to prove for a 6th straight game that they are still the better team.

WOW! Dolphins suck.2 Superbowls in 47 years. Is that good? How many playoff births have the Dolphins had in the previous 9 seasons since the inception of the Texans? 1? And did they make it out of the wildcard round? No? Didn't the Phins go 1-15 in 06 or 07? I guess you put us Texans in our place. LOL

to answer the question about miami's record against the texans it's houston 5 dolphins 0. but that dont matter much miami will come out strong after what happened monday. but i think texans front 7 on d will out due miami's O line. you cant double down on everyone so you gotta pick one. just sayin. it'll still be a good game. texans by 7.

Anyone who says Dolphins are gonna win this your stupid. 31-17 Houston

Texans O is waaaaaaaaay better than the Dolphins and the Texans D is far more improved than the Dolphins as is the Texans ST. records last year are irrelevant. Texans are better than the Dolphins in all phases. this isnt an even match...your only advantage is that you are playing at home and everybody knows the story of Miami fans' inability to show up at their own games (Dolphins, Heat, Marlins)

Chad Henne is garbage. That is all.

Did you guys know DOLPHINS are just gay sharks?

Houston fans starting to sound like Jets fans lol

I think only a fool would think we're a push over team after losing to NE.

What defines a blowout???

Thats because we werent blown out...we lost by 2 TD's and we were in it all the way up until the 4th qrtr...we kept up despite getting caught with our pants down, time and time again.

I think a blowout in football is 17 pts or more since it's a 3 possession game 10-14 pts is winning comfortably imo. But this MNF game was a blowout imo considering NE had over 600 yards and were never really threatened after going up 31-17.

the score was 38-17 with "under" 4 minutes left in the 4th quarter.

211 of miami's yards came in garbage time when the pats didn't really care as they knew they had won by that point. The Dolphins got 80 yards on the "scripted" opening drive and didn't score in the first half again as the Pats adjusted after that drive. That = about 300 yards for the first drive and in garbage time when the game was essentially over. In between those points, for the big bulk of the game, Miami was almost non existent with under 200 total yards for the real meat of the game, when the game was really decided - as it was most of the game (about 45 minutes of the 60 minutes when you deduct miami's opening drive Time of Poss and the garbage time).

The Pats had "over" 500 total yards for the "meat" of the game in those 45 minutes. The Dolphins ? again, "under" 200 for the meat of the game. It's 500++ >>>> under 200.

With just over 3 minutes left in the game - score 38 >>>> 17 in a half empty stadium as half the fans were already driving home from the game = blowout

It was a blowout. Whenever you're leading 38-17 with under 4 minutes left in a football game, it's a blowout amigo.

With 6 minutes left we were down 14 on the Pats one yard line. The Welker play added almost 100 yards of offence to Brandy's total. You count that but not the yards we got RIGHT after that (garbage yards)

Call it what you want. I say we lost a contested game to a great team in the last 6 minutes of the fourth. Blow out ? 14 points is not a blowout to me.

Texans' fans are awfully ****y for a team who is known to be one of the most inconsistent and unpredictable teams in the league.

It's funny how Texan's fans can talk so my $hit when they have never even made the playoffs.

The one quote about Henne about Henne holding onto the ball too long and throwing on the pats because he had so much time is absolutely retarded. They all want to throw past stuff out the window but refuse to do that with the dolphins. Henne ate up the pressure he faced, regardless of the coverage. Need him to do it again though, because they will be coming.

They just grew a new set of balls because they finally beat the colts down. Even if it was the real colts, false sense of reality.

its called livin in the past.

btw, the one player said that two plays defined that game. Not scoring at GL and then next play to welker for 99 yards. He is correct.
