In theory, a WR with the speed of a Wallace opens up the O for everyone else, and that should happen. However, I did not see it last year for our team.

Hartline went from #1 coverage to #2 but, had the same year. In 2012, 74 catches for a 14.6 avg, and 2013 76 catches for a 13.4 average. In 21012, Bess caught 61 for a 12.8 average. In 2013, Gibson (before injury) caught 30 for a 10.9 average.

Clay, in 2012, caught 18 for a 11.8 average, and Fasano was 41 for a 8.1 average. In 2013, Clay caught 69 for a 11 average. I think the difference in Clay was getting more playing time and improving.

Wallace was to open up the run game, and get the 8 out of the box. We had the same 4.1 average as 2012 with Bush, and Hartline as #1.

I know Wallace "should" have made a difference with others but, did not see it. Why?

You didn't see it? You wanna see what our offense would've looked like with our top targets being Hartline, Gibson, Matthews and Clay?

Laughable

#1 reason, Tannehill's inability to connect with him on the deep ball. The online also was horrible in run blocking. I think if Gibson had finished the season his numbers would have dwarfed Bess', especially the TD's. It also doesn't help when the OC doesn't call plays to take advantage of mismatches and can't switch up his game plan when the defense stops his original one.

Having an O-Line that forces you to the throw the ball before plays really get to develop pretty much negates that. Re-Watch the Colts-Cheifs game and watch Andrew Luck have 5 seconds for T.Y Hilton speed to clear everything out.

When Richard Sherman was asked why SEA's secondary was so deadly he said it starts with pressure. When you get consistent pressure on the QB and he has to throw quickly then you can press receivers so they can't get into their routes and get away with coverage you normally couldn't.

I didn't even mention our lack of a run game which makes passing all the much harder. The YPC are misleading because Bush was a legit threat in some games. Miller and Thomas never were.

I believe we all saw what that would be like in 2012 with our top targets being Hattline, Bess, Clay, and Fasano. NEWS FLASH- it was about the same. :)

The offensive line issues were large enough that there wasn't any defense in the league that had to worry about being honest against our offense.

People have to remember that Wallace was hurt in training camp last year. It doesn't sound like he got a lot of reps with Tannehill, and they clearly were not on the same page through most of the season. Tanny seems to either overthrow or underthrow him, which is partially his fault, but also Wallace's fault. Hopefully they will start to click more.

Hell yeah, connect and the D want's to make sure it won't happen again. Don't connect, and we will wait until ya do, and keep nailing your QB in the meantime, and won't switch anything.

Completely agree. If RT and Wallace connect this year, Wallace will have the desired effect and I fully expect it to happen but, did not take place in 2013.

The Wallace deep ball threat was never established so we really don't know what effect it might have had.

If our QB hits him on some of those open long passes where he had several steps on the defender they would have had to double him more and everyone else's stats would have looked better.

To me this plus fixing the OL are our biggest areas that must improve.

Agree but, we did not do that last year, and stats were basically the same as 2012 when Wallace was not here. No idea why anyone disputes that, it's NFL stats.

This year "should be" a completely differently story, which I am very anxious to read/see. :)

How could the stats be the same when Tannehill doubles his TD passes. The year before Hartline had one TD and our leader was Fasano with 5 I believe.

Clay , Wallace and Harline all had 4 plus and Mathews and Gibson pitched in another 5 as well.

Our running game sucked but our passing was much better than the year before at least scoring wise.

Any running game at all and we would have had a few more wins.
