The WR Battle

Please, i swore my allegiance to one group and one group only: Team Douchebag.

But your right, i do have an agenda: i want this team to win. Improving our roster is the best way to accomplish that. Granted, there are other schools of thought when it comes to winning. You obviously are among those who believe that changing nothing will suddenly change everything. Lemme guess, this year that will work because we have a secret weapon:

Its fueled by local fans going to games, amirite? That plan has no flaws whatsoever.

Yeah, sorry Hartline's 34,000 yards and 87 touchdowns hasn't led us to a perfect season.

Putting Hartline as a reason Miami has been 8-8 is just funny. It's a wide receiver corps. Hartline is a valued player in that corps. Why on earth would getting rid of Hartline make that group better? It's one less player that can contribute.

Deal with it.

Hartline is beloved by the organization. Any suggestion that he's set to be traded is crazy. A few weeks ago they had a big evening at SunLife for prospective season ticketholders. It was a great evening to sell seats. The two guest speakers were new Dolphins President/CEO Tom Garfinkel and Brian Hartline. Hartline spoke for 20 minutes (without notes) and was an absolute pro. He worked the room, it was an excellent marketing performance as good as the timing on his curl routes or just getting his toes down to complete a sideline catch. The Dolphins sold many seats that night and Hartline impressed everyone. He has an obvious big future in business or the media when he retires.
I know football is a business but Hartline has:
(a) caught for over 1000 yards in the last 2 seasons.
(b) an established connection with our young QB that is proven and Tannehill relies on him.
(c) works his ass off for the team off the field promoting season ticket sales. 31 other teams would dream to get a good player who is naturally good at this.
We have a surplus of decent WRs, but I'd be shocked if we dump Hartline. He was one of the best Draft picks of the Ireland era, that doesn't mean he needs to be discarded. He's proven, loyal and better than any receiver Tom Brady, Cam Newton, Johnny Manziel have on their respective rosters.
