Theismann rips into Ricky

I still don't see where he is wrong. We're talking about Wicky Rilliams here ppl. This is a guy last year who walked away from training camp because he wanted to smoke pot around the world. That move basically cost him any where from 5-7 million dollars. Think about that. WHat rational person quits anything when that type of $ is involved. This is a man with 3 children. It is not like he is alone in this world.

If anyone here thinks Wicky is not as likely to walk away again for the same reasons is setting themselves up to be disapointed once again.

Wicky is a troubled person, and that will prob never change. He is without a doubt one failed drug test away from being suspended for a year. And there is no doubt the NFL bent over backwards for Wicky. They allowed him to join training camp early, and they were willing to allow him to serve his 4 game suspension last year.

I think most of what Joe said is spot on. As a an ex-player I tend to respect his POV much more than any of these idiot sport writers who are kissing Wicky's azz every chance they get.

I hope Wicky tears it up, but he is not normal and odds are he is going to so something stupid once again.

There's some funny quotes on the site that quote links to... He is another "Genius" QB turned analyst who says a lot of stupid things:
-Terry Bradshaw

I actually think there's some wisdom to that Bradshaw quote. It suggests that even though you're of ignorant breeding, you may not necessarily be able to be deceived. Oh well, that's enough deep thinking for today.

Dan Le Batard from 790 the ticket said that he almost guarantees that LT had a hint of cocaine in his system when he snapped Joe Theisman's leg like a toothpick....The funny thing is that they have a great friendship today...

They allowed him to come to camp four ddays early, which considering the fact the Dolphins started four days earlier than everyone else, seems to be a nice accomodation -- not "bending over backwards."

Ricky is serving a four-year suspension this year. He is being tested 10 times a month, as per the NFL drug policy. That is not bending over backward.

Remember, people, the drug policy is not there to punish players, it's to help them. I really don't think Ricky's going to go back to the weed. He may flake out otherwise, but to just brand him a standard doper is a gross generalization.

That was Stu Gotz, not LeBatard.

The NFL was willing to allow Wicky to serve his 4 game suspension last year. Of course the pothead turned it down, because he did not want to pee 10 times a month for the NFL. Allowing him to return 4 days early may seem small to most ppl, but I more than understand why that kind of treatment would upset an old school guy like Joe.

Sorry no way will I defend anything involving Wicky ever again. He does not deserve that kind of respect from any of us. The guy quit on us to smoke pot and none of his words and promises right now is going to change that. Even if 4-years go by I will never trust this idiot again.

I hope he does well, but only because he is a Miami Dolphin player. If he was not on this team I would care less about the life long pothead. Wicky himself has more than admitted he is a drug addict Zoom. Joe is not making things up.

John Riggins is an ex-player, he is very supportive of Ricky. Saban is supposed to be a great coach and a really smart guy, he is supportive of Ricky and I trust his opinion. Oh, and lets not forget that in 2003, while most sports writers were writing about how bad Jay Fielder sucked, Theismann was openly predicting him to go to the Pro Bowl ... real genius.

I think we'd better book two tickets for ...

What does any of this have to do with what Joe said? Almost everything he said was spot on about Wicky.

I read what Riggins had to say, and he made it clear Wicky quit for different reasons. I agree with Riggins everyone deserves a 2nd chance. I do not agree with Joe in his ultimate point. Which is Wicky should not be allowed to play again. That point of course is as idiotic as what Wicky did last year. Of course Wicky should be allowed to play again, this is America.

My main thing is we are talking about a multiple proven idiot in Wicky here. This is the moron who dressed up in a wedding dress several years before he quit football to go smoke pot around the world!

Anyone who think this idiot is not going to let himself, his family, his team mates and us the fans down again is only fooling themselves.

I do think he's over pot. I could be wrong, but that's my gut feeling.

I still think he's a weirdo, but the league is full of weirdos.

As for him coming back for the money, I don't hold that against him at all. He has the talent to make a lot of money to meet his financial needs. Why should he be consigned to flipping burgers?
