Theories on Quinn signing

Brady Quinn is a living example of the hazards of being over-drafted and carrying the burden of expectations ...then Brady was shipped to Denver as a backup to another overhyped QB in Tebow. Imagine Quinn's disgust when he knew he could pass more accurately than the muscled baby Jesus, but he learned to zip his mouth and just do his job...

Holy fried Christmas on a stick. So, the only difference between BQ & godboy... is intelligence and accuracy?

So bring in a garbage QB and give him only three weeks to pick up the offense? I agree that it's too replace one if the two but I stunt think it's for the reason.

We brought in Seth Lobata and gave him 10 days to learn the offense...and he played 3 quarters in the first preseason game.

Quinn is a terrible QB though - even for a backup.

This is a simple salary saving move. Moore is scheduled to make too much. Probably was asked to restructure and said no. They probably feel there is not much difference between the two. Last game Moore played he had six plays. Two completions, two INTs, one fumble, and an incomplete pass. I do not think Quinn is any worse.

That doesn't mean anything whatsoever. They can give the guy a base package, which is why the offense looked so freaking vanilla. It's not like concepts are foreign to these guys, it's the terminology and timing with his teammates that takes the longest and why they don't throw a whole playbook at someone all at once.

IF you're going to use the Buffalo game in inclement weather as a litmus test, then you better cut Tanny too. I mean c'mon. SMH

Go back and watch Quinn's appearances in recent times. He can't even hold Moore's jockstrap as far as competent backup material. Moore's money comes off the books next year. They already have decent cap space. What is it you propose they do with the savings THIS summer? LOL

My theory. Moore is injured, doesn't fit this offense and make to much money. Devlin is not developed enough for the #2 spot and is also injured. The coaching staff also finds itself with a lot of talented receivers. So sign Quinn for dirt cheap. Cut Devlin now and Moore later in camp. Keep 2 QBs in T-Hill and Quinn. Roll 4-5 extra million from Moore into next season salary cap and keep an extra receiver on the 53.

brady quinn doesnt read coverage very well so expect him to spray the ball into it if he plays in games that matter...he's not a good fit either...unless this offense is gonna produce a ton of easy reads...which is possible if it mirrors the philly one...stares down his primarys all the time also...

this teams no different than 95 percent of all the other teams that have talented starting qbs...the goose is cooked if they go down

Quinn has the body, n maybe he can get the ball out fast, which seems to be what this offense is all about.

However, if 5 or 6 teams dump you, it says something.

It's an obvious money move if you ask me ... but IF I had to come up with an alternative theory I guess I'd have to say Quinn is really a super star who always wanted to play for Miami, but since we drafted Ted Ginn Jr and his family, Quinn had to tank his early career in hopes that he one day would be released and then be called upon by the Fins so he could take his chiseled abs and boyish good looks to South Beach. Oh, and Lazor was in on it.

He will be spotted skipping on the sand in his speedo singing, "when Quinn the quarterback gets here, ev'rybody's gonna jump for joy".

First off, Lazor had to be the one to make this choice, and I'm not about to question his judgment from what I have seen of our O. Maybe he sees something he likes and believes he can develop this year to take Moore's place next year in place of looking for a vet when Moore's contract expires. Just a thought.

Theory on a backup qb who might not make the 53?

So, Tebow is only half as bad?

Brady Quinn arrival is linked to a growing gap between Tannehill and his backups.
With Matt Moore nursing an injury and younger passers showing bellow CFL's standards, it became obvious that in order to have production team should upgrade at backup QB.
This means Brady Quinn is nothing more than a camp arm, unless he wins a spot becoming an important piece of this roster by pushing Moore and Tannehill, while Lobato could end as project QB within practice squad.

An Utopian scenario could be included where Quinn finds whatever has been lacking during his whole NFL career and wins battle over Moore and Tannehill. But that's totally unlikely.

The way I see it, this move clears bad karma on Dolphins after passing on him on draft day.
