It's not about race, it's about duke. Duke players are always overrated, if Redick played anywhere else he'd be known as a good streak shooter but b/c he is overhyped at duke he is an all-American.

Duke has nothing to do with it. Reddick had a much better player next to him in the backcourt who got no pub.

it's absolutely duke, how else could you explain all the positive press for duhon who was horrible as a soph and jr. and ok as a senior yet made all-ACC and nearyl won ACC POY? Ewing is the better all around player but Ewing also goes into stretches when he is horrible, he was not exactly mr. consistent in his 4 years there.

C'mon man, don't deny Duhon. He is a pure point guard and anyone who knows anything about his game knows his talent doesn't come up on stat sheets. He's in the NBA right now having a hell of a Rookie campaign. As far as Ewing, he came into his own his Jr. year and then this year he was solid but he tried to do to much. I love Ewing but I think his Jr. year was better then this year. To many times he tried to take over games when he shouldn't of. Last year's team I think was Ewings team (as far as guard scoring is concerned) but this year I think it was JJ's team which is why Ewing trying to take over certain games pissed me off. All in all a great career for both players. Ewing wasn't Mr. Consistant, I agree but his first two years he was behind experience and his last years he was solid. I'm excited for this upcoming Duke team. Three All-Americans coming to campus this year and I can't wait to see Nelson more who is a rebounding machine for his size. I haven't seen a kid at a guard postion with a nack for the ball that he has since Wojo. Next year is going to be fun for us Duke fans. No doubt we're a top three pick for the National Championship!

P.S. The All American kid Green who is going to UNC this year is a solid kid. I live on LI and have saw him play three times over Christmas vacation and he has talent. He not Williams talent (as far as a freshman who could go straight to the league) as far as NBA talent but he's a kid I guarentee UNC will have for four years and a kid who will mature and get better every year. I wouldn't expect ACC freshman of the year from him this year but I expect that by the time he is a Sr. he will be a well respected leader at UNC!

Duhon had a very good Sr. year but he was brutal in his soph and jr. years and he constantly got Redick-like praise from the Vitale and co.

Rumors are VERY strong that Demarcus Nelson is going to transfer.

I think you are too, probably the favorite as now ou have talent and depth BUT you do lose a leader in Ewing and your go-to guy is a choker who in 3 Tourneys has never performed so while duke should win it all and at least make a FF it is not a lock by any stretch. I think they need to have a different go-to guy than redick if they are going to cut the nets in Indy.

From everything I've read he's a great kid who isn't the most gifted but plays hard and is a Jawad Williams or Jackie Manuel type glue player. He won't be the most talented player but he'll do the little things needed to win. I'm always happy to have NY players on the Heels, it's one of the reasons I became a Carolina fan back in the 80s. UNC always had a bunch of NY players on the team but that stopped w/ Doherty(who ironically was a player from LI although he did try to get a few NY players).

A bench contributor. Just like 95% of the other players that come out of duke. When will people ever learn?
Guys I never said he was going to be a superstar in the NBA but some of you are saying he wont even make it in the NBA and be out in 2-3 years thats just dumb. Im saying he will make it in the NBA and be a contributor thats all Ive been saying.

He'll make a roster but he'll be nothing more than a bench player unless he goes to a horrible team. The reason I think he'll be out in 2-3 years is b/c I think he'll take his game to Europe where he can be a star shooter and make alot more $ than here.

I look at Reddick as a Steve Kerr type at the pro level. He'll be put in to take big three's when needed but he won't be a star, nyjunc's right. He'll have a nice long career as a specialty type of player like Kerr. He won't see major minutes but he'll contribute when situations call for him too!

JJ's not physical enough to defend 2 guards in the NBA, so he won't be a star because he won't see the minutes. Shooting is definitely a premimum in the NBA and if he can be slotted into a role on a good team, he can be a specialist in the league for a long time.

Otherwise, on a bad team 2-3 years and then Europe. Also, Salim Stoudamire from Az is a better shooter anyways.
