They totally outplayed us and I wish I had a better answer,” said Dolphins Head Coach

I'm hoping someone with more football knowledge (maybe hooshoops) can answer this. Are some of these sacks where there's miscommunication and blatant missed blocking assignments on tannehill? Should he be shifting the protection based on the defense, or does Sherman determine that pre play?

Sorry if this has already been addressed.

Why are you constantly insisting on replacing Philbin? We will not go anywhere is we replace the HC right now. Most important thing with a young QB is stability switching coaches and coordinators slows down the progress.

Only time that is warranted is if the coach is ruining the QB aka Shanahan and RGIII
Like the eagles?

Tanny calls protections at the line with Pouncey.

I'm not going to tell you how to be a fan but it is short sighted your approach. You want a constant revolving door which breeds "mediocrity" so what stops you from using that "fan" card when the next guy gets in here and you want to fire him after 2 years as well?

It will get them nowhere if they just blow everything up again because the cycle will just continue.

Once again we get the garbage continuity argument. Detroit maintained continuity with Matt Millen for year upon miserable year. What did that buy them?

What's he going to say, my offensive line has no talent and couldn't block 4 people with 6 people? GTF outta here!

So what we have done is comparable to a team that won 0 games?

I bet if you compared the lions and thier draft picks to us, we come out on top by a wide margin.

Again you are trying to dump everything at the GM when it is a team effort.

Philbin made the classic mistake of hiring his friends..............

They were pretty clearly missed assignments. They asked Tannehill about it in the post game presser and while he didn't throw guys under the bus (he said the Bills made great plays timing the snap etc) he basically said "Yeah, we saw them. They just made great plays."

I believe Charles Clay missed one, Daniel Thomas missed like three, Bryant McKinnie missed one (and to be fair he had no chance), and Brenner was getting crushed before he got replaced.

My personal belief is that Pouncey's odd head/butt movement right before he snaps gives it away and that's part of the problem we have on offense with pass protection. But I'm so tired of pointing that out now and I realize that the coaches either don't know, don't think it's a problem, or don't care. So I'll just howl at the moon. They certainly wouldn't listen to me even if they read this board, and even then, why should they? I'm a white collar schmo. I really don't know a damn thing about coaching the OL.

Who do you hire when you get the job of your life? Successful friends or strangers?

And, coyle has no connection to Philbin.

That said, my fire list is turner (ol), coyle (dc and it is worse), Sherman (just because he brought turner).

If you maintain continuity with a failure like Matt Millen you reap failure. If you maintain continuity with the mediocrity that is Jeff Ireland you reap year upon mind numbing year of mediocrity. If you want to be a winner, you maintain continuity with a proven winner.

Also, the last time I checked the GM is responsible for hiring the team. So a team level failure like the Buffalo game is clearly ultimately the GM's responsibility.

Kevin Coyle should not be fired under any circumstances whatsoever unless it turns out that he wanted Wheeler and Ellerbe and that both of them were signed at his request after he kept banging the table with a knife and fork in hand and shouting "I WANT ELLERBE! I WANT WHEELER!" Or if he is similarly responsible for the big Reshad Jones contract.

It's not his fault that he has to work with that crap, unless it is his fault.

Wanny said it best! We couldn't run the ball or pass protect. That kills you dead. Our D kept us in the game by only giving up field goals. If we could have done anything on O we'd have won the game. They did gash us more than I would have liked but the score was within reason all the way into the 4th quarter. Look, we had no intensity, we were not ready for the cold conditions and we should just turn the page and get ready for the Jets or we're going to get beat again. We have to hold serve at home against the Jets. 2 collapses in a row aren't an option if there is any hope to see the post season. I really expect them to come out and do well enough to beat the Jets. It's home and it's a far better matchup. We'll win.

If the Fins win it will be as a full out team commitment from the players.

Philbin with his latest Sargent Shultzy 'I see nottink, I know nuttink' coaching perspective will have little or nothing to do with the Fins winning or losing this game, IMO of course..
