With all the reports about the QB's struggles, Feeley looking dejected, Frerotte knowing the system but not light-years ahead of the others.... etc. We should stop for a second (before saying X sucks, or Y should be nothing but a back-up) and consider that all of the WR's are new to this offense. The tight ends are new to this offense. The runningbacks are new to this offense.

The QB's aren't just playing catch out there either. Making the right read but throwing the ball off slightly is much better than not seeing the opportunity and dumping the ball off, or forcing a throw.

That process takes too much work. I say stick to player X sucks and so on. At least that way I do not have to think - which can hurt!

The one thing that disappoints me is that AJ should be more comfortable with this group of receivers. The system is new, but AJ has played with this corp for 8 games. He needs to show more.

All of the QB's looked poor to ok. I don't expect any of the camp reporters or Dolphin bloggers to crown a winner. Saban has yet to evaluate them relative to their performances in training, because this isn't the time for evaluation.

What everyone must realize is its June, not September. New offense new personnell, and yet everyone wants it to be a finely tuned machine. News Flash, no matter who starts at qb, it wont be finely tuned until midseason at the earliest. Sorry but there is going to be a learning curve AGAIN, new coach, new personnel, new system completely, it dont gel overnite.

yeah but the problem is im getting tired of hearing how poorly AJ is doing i mean the guy has been here for a while now and he still cant seem to even look decent, i hope im wrong but AJ just seems more and more like a bust!!

It is kind of sad to hear about how bad he is doing.

Being comfortable with the players is not AJ problem, based on the reports, it's knowing the O..i.e., the number of steps in the drop, which receiver to hit based on D, and what's the hot read. He thinking too much as this point. By mid PS, I expect this to subside some.

You're right, the sun was in his eyes, the wind was blowing too hard, and blah.....blah.....blahl! Bottom line is he starting to look like a bust and that sucks to all fans. I hope he is the future, because whether you like AJ or not, you want the Phins to win, period.

And I assume you could do better, it's June, and their trying to get their timing and plays down....relax, We still have July and Aug.. :shakeno:

I've said it over and over and over again. When Jon Gruden first came to Tampa, the media was killing this team and the players after their first mini camp. Brad Johnson, Shawn King, and Rob Johnson looked like Middle School quarterbacks at best, Keyshaw, Keenan, and the running backs looked horrible. They ran the wrong routes, they ran inside when it was supposed to go outside, and the QB's couldn't hit the broad side of a barn. Granted, Gruden's offense is much more complicated than Linehan's, but the point made, you can neither praise nor kill a player for their mini camp performance. I'm sorry, but if Feeley and Frerotte had each completed 100% of their passes, all for touchdowns during the mini-camp, we'd all be saying, "Yeahhh, but it's just mini-camp!" Give these guys a chance to watch the film of their mini-camp, continue to study their playbook and come back for TC ready to improve and hopefully make some progress! If during the preseason, we don't see sings of improvement or some sort of success, then we can say uh oh! I'm not saying A.J. or Gus are going to turn into Dan Marino over the next 8 weeks, but, it's unfair to judge them on a rainy and windy 3 day mini-camp with a new scheme (In A.J.'s case) and new players to get used to in (Gus' case)

Of course I can't do better! I am not a pro footballl player with his arse on the line. How does that change the fact that AJ is not stepping up.

I agree completely with raving. I like how he, um, thinks. Ow, my head hurts.

You can't step up until you know, without thinking what you're doing..and that's not the case in June for these guys..
