I hate the Jests but being realistic, first of all its preseason and second, Mangold and their starting right tackle were out. I will agree their depth on O-line sucks and Ducasse can be beaten by my grandmother. He is one slow dude.
Yeah. Texans set a preseason record with those sacks. Along with proving, once again, that Wade Philips is a better coordinator than head coach.
The bottom line is that the jets have NO DEPTH! Ducasse got beat like my ex-gfs ----- ..... Kerley isn't that great and the rest of their depth at every position sucks. McCelroy reminds me of Derek Anderson. Their white punt returners are horrid. Rex is fat. The only player I love and WISH WE DRAFTED is Bilal Powell.
You are spot on about the Jets issues. They have little to no depth just about everywhere, if they sustain any injuries, their season is done.
Their starting o-line should be good, but they have nothing behind them. McElroy had a rough day, and his long passes hung up in the air like a punt.
You do realize our best Ol was out and we were down 2 starters, right?
You do realize we then lost our backup C early on, right?
You also realize this game was played w/ mostly backups, right?
You guys are reahcing as usual. We will have a very good Ol w/ a couple of quality backups when the season starts. Any team that loses 2-3 OL will have trouble filling those holes.
I hear this every year yet we have injuries every year and guys step up. Our depth across the board is fine but if Turner is done for a while our Ol depth takes a major hit.
McElroy played well all things considered and he is our 3rd string QB. He will be a good backup in this league for many years.
I thought McElroy played pretty well last night. Do you see him as anything more then a 3rd QB for the jets?
If he doesn't, his days are numbered in NY. Sanchez isn't a great QB (statistically worse than Henne) and as you pointed out, the Jets (like Miami) need stronger QB play to take the next step. He's had it easy so far because the Jets have made it to the AFC Championship twice but if the Jets regress this year the Sanchez criticism is going to increase. You'll start seeing the same stuff about Sanchez on Jets forums that you see here about Henne. If Sanchez takes a large step forward, you're talking about a team that can really push for a SB.
If Sanchez takes a large step forward, you're talking about a team that can really push for a SB. If he remains the same, you're still talking about a tough team - obviously.
I like it when the Jets and Pats are good. Playing in a tough division should prevent any GM or coach from complacency. Obviously there's a problem: we're not a good team. Not as it stands. We have some nice talent, but without a QB, our D will have to be dominant (rather than good - which it now is) for our team to become good.
