First off, I am not saying that this coaching staff is outright hindering it's players, I still believe Philbin is learning the ropes of the head coaching game and might evolve more and more into a very solid head coach with every year of new head coaching experience under his belt.
That being said, it is evident that Joe Philbin is not hesitant in stifling and taking control of players he does not like, like when he played a role in trading Brandon Marshall, releasing Karlos Dansby, and letting Reggie Bush walk without even making him an offer.
But the past is the past... we can't cry about that but...
I have been noticing how we seem to not correctly play and help out our own players, specifically, Lamar Miller and Rishard Matthews. Lamar Miller was our best RB last year, yet, Philbin still plugged Daniel Thomas into every snap he could severely limiting Lamar Miller's touches. But **** it because Lamar Miller is limited in certain scenarios.
Rishard Matthews on the other hand is a beast. He has been riding the bench since his rookie year, he came into his own this last year that they actually gave him playing time, and then after he has the best game of his career, we limit his snaps the next few games. And this year it comes out that the coaching staff has not been happy with him, but not because of his performance on the field. What a surprise!
If we traded or let go of Lamar Miller and Rishard Matthews they would become superstars somewhere else. Lamar Miller and Rishard Matthews need extra playing time this year, they are ready.
