First off, I am not saying that this coaching staff is outright hindering it's players, I still believe Philbin is learning the ropes of the head coaching game and might evolve more and more into a very solid head coach with every year of new head coaching experience under his belt.

That being said, it is evident that Joe Philbin is not hesitant in stifling and taking control of players he does not like, like when he played a role in trading Brandon Marshall, releasing Karlos Dansby, and letting Reggie Bush walk without even making him an offer.

But the past is the past... we can't cry about that but...

I have been noticing how we seem to not correctly play and help out our own players, specifically, Lamar Miller and Rishard Matthews. Lamar Miller was our best RB last year, yet, Philbin still plugged Daniel Thomas into every snap he could severely limiting Lamar Miller's touches. But **** it because Lamar Miller is limited in certain scenarios.

Rishard Matthews on the other hand is a beast. He has been riding the bench since his rookie year, he came into his own this last year that they actually gave him playing time, and then after he has the best game of his career, we limit his snaps the next few games. And this year it comes out that the coaching staff has not been happy with him, but not because of his performance on the field. What a surprise!

If we traded or let go of Lamar Miller and Rishard Matthews they would become superstars somewhere else. Lamar Miller and Rishard Matthews need extra playing time this year, they are ready.

He played Thomas over Miller because Thomas was a better blocker and we didn't run the ball. If Miller could block better he would've played more last year. How many times did we not keep the extra blocker in and Tanny got lit up?

We will likely never know how much of the last 2 years was Ireland and how much was Philbin. But now that Ireland is gone I'm willing to give Philbin 2 more years. But we need to be in round 2 of the playoffs by the end of that. Otherwise dump him and Hickey and go after Harbaugh, give him the reigns, let him pick his own GM he can work with and make the GM and coach mutually dependent employment-wise. You could substitute Cowher for Harbaugh, etc....but effectively the same idea.

this is probably the worst thread of the year.

This thread potentially is limited to rookie mental midget status. Potentially.

It's the OP's opinion. What's so terrible about posting it that it has to bashed so disrespectfully?

The coaching staff did not limit Matthews snaps after the Buccaneers game.

Matthews played 43 of 59 offensive snaps against the Buccaneers.

Matthews played 56 of 63 offensive snaps against the Chargers. Which by the way was the same amount of snaps as Mike Wallace.

Matthews played 51 of 63 offensive snaps against the Panthers.

So going just by the snap counts, the coaches did not limit Rishard after the best game of his career.

Are we even certain Philbin is a good coach? How about 100% convinced that he is an ok coach? You can probably site a few examples that suggest he is an ok coach but you can find many suggesting otherwise IMO.
