This is why this organization is AVERAGE

Fire Sherman instead of cleaning house. Ireland is no Matt Millen, but he is clearly shown that he is a below average GM at best. How many years have we been trying to "build the offensive line" this is the 6th year of trying to do that. While he doesn't miss on 1st round picks (which is a plus) he has no clue how to draft rounds 2-7. Our best 2nd round pick was Daniel Thomas.. How about his free agent signings. Richard Marshall? Wallace? Ellerbe? Wheeler? Philbin, is nothing more than average. Is he better than Sparano? Yes, but that's not saying much. The Dolphins will continue to be a 7-9 8-8 football team as long as Jeff Ireland and Joe Philbin are employed by the Miami Dolphins. Now in a do or die year Philbin has to bring in a new OC and a new system, with a BRUTAL schedule next year. I can't see this team winning more than 7 games next year. Why delay the process? This is what happens when you try and mix and match Head Coaches and GM's... IT DOESN'T WORK! Football teams are a reflection of their head coach. The Dolphins are boring, flat, stoic, and show zero emotion. The Bills and the Jets PLAYED HARDER than we did, when they had nothing to play for. The playoffs were gift wrapped for us. There is zero excuse for Ireland and Philbin to still have a job. We FINALLY have a Franchise Quarterback but unfortunately that will be squandered until we can get a real HC and GM.:crazy:

This thread is a fail. We have this in a million posts already.

In other words, teams have a better chance of being average than of being anything else.

I know but this league is designed for every team to make growth. And for good teams to fall apart. Meanwhile we have been the same 7-9 8-8 team. I'm not counting 2008 when we had to have
A. Chad Pennington fall into our laps in training camp. B. Tom Brady tears his ACL week 1 C. We rode the wave of an offensive innovation.

Blah blah blah blah and more blah

And that was the key, and the team won't be competitive like that again until it has a similar performance from its QB.

Our ownership is making decisions like our coaching staff.

This organization always tried to play it safe. Always tries to put image over winning.

Could you imagine Ricky Williams on this team? Not in your life.

Why not bring in Tebow if they want pristine personalities. SMH.

We suck because we dont make moves to win. We're simply trying not to lose in so many ways.

brutal schedule next year??? i havent seen it yet to even know...

Home: Buffalo, New England, NY Jets, Kansas City, San Diego, Green Bay, Minnesota, Baltimore

Away: Buffalo, New England, NY Jets, Denver, Oakland (in London), Chicago, Detroit, Jacksonville.

Worst game on that schedule is easily Denver @ Denver. Detroit game is VERY likely to be on Thanksgiving from what I've seen speculated.

I don't think that schedule is particularly bad. San Diego and Oakland being scheduled the way they are is a lucky break for us, since we get San Diego at our place (probably 1pm start) and then we get Oakland in London where we will have more of a HFA, really.

I think we are looking at another 8-8 type of season but if the team makes real improvement on offense and doesn't regress too badly on defense, it's possible we could win more games. I thought we had a tough schedule this season, to be honest.

I've been on hear for less than a week and every single post of yours I've read is negative. What's your problem?

Sorry bro, I just when posters here just keep rehashing the same crap and start new threads on it when we already have a million others. You go to a new thread thinking someone has something original to say and it's the same drivel.

There is no telling what will happen with a game in London. From everyone I've talked to in the league, the players just party the whole week while they are there.. I would rather that game be in Oakland

Barring a great FA and Draft I see this team going 6-10...

I don't know about 6-10, but somewhere around .500 is entirely likely. We will be better in one or two areas but worse in others...net result is the same outcome. Ireland apparently can't fix one problem without creating another. Fix WR, destroy OL. Fix CB, destroy LB. See the pattern? He will probably fix OL and LB but destroy DL. Who knows?

It's all good man. Like I said I've been on here for less than a week. I'm sure "Jeff Ireland sucks" is a very reoccurring theme around here..

I think we match up well with Oakland. I think I'm glad we're playing at a neutral site (in a place where Dolphins are one of the three most popular teams) as opposed to in Oakland. And from what I understand, Oakland is stuck in one or two more years of post Al Davis hell.

That and Jacksonville are two road games you look at and say "I like our chances more than most in that one."

Ireland admits when he has made a mistake and will jettison a free agent bust. Ireland overpaid for 2 LBs this past season but underpaid for a CB. Patterson was a good find talent wise but is often injured. Marshall is not a bad player but we did not need him because we kept Patterson. Ireland needs to draft a dynamic RB and fill a number of positions on the OL. TE is also a priority.
