-Those voice mails and texts were 7 months ago.

-Martin and Incognito hung out together many times AFTER that date in bars, clubs, etc as friends/teammates would.

-When fins gave the "speculation statement" it was BEFORE they heard the voice mail and turned everything over to the NFL for investigation.

-After that is when they actually are given the voice mails/texts and immediately suspend incog.

-Martin sent Incog text saying it wasn't him specifically, but the culture of a NFL locker room.

-Martin also put on his FB to not believe everything you read.

-Martin PARTICIPATED in the same prank on another linemen the week prior, as well as the car prank of Samuda..

- Javorskie Lane just tweeted that "Ritchie was a great teammate, this is blown way out of proportion. he was 1000% joking, that is his personality" in regards to the voicemails and texts.

- It even says in the voicemail script he was laughing. (although it is still way inappropriate)

- If he has been fine with Ritchie for 7 months since the voicemail, why all of the sudden does he act out after the fins demote him after aquiring Mckinnie.

- Teamates are saying nothing out of the ordinary has been noticed in the locker room.



hmm. IDK. I feel as if there is still more to come. Not on either players side, but it seems as if Martin is flipping the script for some reason and using Incog for a preplanned lawsuit. Maybe Incog was indeed too much of a ball buster for Martin and Martin was too afraid to say something to him. I find that unlikely considering the general violence of the sport. He goes toe to toe with some of the nastiest, physically freakish, strong defensive linemen in the WORLD, yet he is afraid of Incognito, who he has been around for 2 years now. I get the whole aspect of mental manipulation, but it just seems unlikely to me.
 
Yeah, this is just crazy.

With all these holes in the story, and no one really knowing whats going on, can we stop calling for the heads of everyone in our organization? Just a thought...
 
All I know is this....

I really dont think the Phins locker room is any different then any other NFL locker room. If its so bad in there....why is it only Jonathan Martin who seems to not be able to handle it.

There is sooooooo much context that is missing from those texts and conversations. How do we know Martin didnt call Incognito a cracker ass cracker? I really think this has turned into the firestorm it is...because of the media..and thats it.
 
regardless if he was joking the league is coming down on incognito. they cant tolerate that language and these hazings or pranks being in the national spotlight. incognito is done regardless
 
It's not.

While I think Richie Incognito is a jerkoff, a crummy person, and probably just a plain old scumbag, here is what does not sit right with me:

What if he really meant what he sent to Richie? What if he really did check himself into rehab (We know he checked himself into a 'facility')? What is his agent and parents ARE driving this now?

It's really hard to question what's going on with Martin here without seeming like I am defending Incognito, which is what makes this such a weird subject.
 
Wiley on Sportsnation said it best. In this day and age you have to worry about people killing you. Not saying incognito would harm Martin if he confronted him! but you don't know. New England didn't know Aaron Hernandez would kill someone.

One thing Martin knew is incognito isn't all there. His history speaks for itself. Sometimes it is best to turn the other cheek, but you can only do that for so long. You can only keep those emotions and anger bottled up for so long. Martin finally had enough.
 
Anyone consider that Incognito considered Martin a friend and was just dumping on him as a joke? I joke with my friends all the time and might sound mean, but of course don't mean it. I would never use a racial term. I think that is bad taste, but I agree OP it does not add up.
 
the real question is who is paying martin for all this. the witch hunt has been goin on for sometime now for cog. im suspecting someone in the media or a disgruntled player he beasted on.

I don't think Martin is driving this. I think his parents are driving this. I think the originally reported story about Martin going to a rehab facility for help is true, and I think his parents are now looking to protect their son and they don't care who they are going to tear down in the process.

The fact that Richie is a known jagoff makes it very easy for them to do that.

Joke about fried chicken and picking strawberries etc....
