This May Be Lame But ...

Hey Erroneousflint, I feel Your pain. I can't stand any disturbances in THE FORCE either.:fire: :fire: :fire: :fire: :fire: :fire:

This will be the lamest. I also like to be alone and I like to run back and forth from my computer to post on Finheaven at the commercials.
too much work involved. it's funny you say this cuz i tried this for two games myself last season and my perspective of the game becomes blemished by the accumulative [by finheaven members] perspective of the game. i dont like the effect.
it's almost likened to a birthday wish that you tell just after blowing out the candles or a virgin bride found out to have a whore's past.

I do some goofy things too.

It all comes down to fans' desire to affect SOME INFLUENCE on something that is wholly out of their control.
you dont truly believe that way, do you? trust me, you dont.

tell the goofy things.

I can watch games with other Dolphins fans or with the fans of the team we are playing.

I hate watching them with fans of another team not involved in the game who need to throw in their .2 cents on something totally irrelevant to what is going on in THIS game.

The best thing to do is build yourself a compound like I did.

I have my "GAME ROOM" in my house with multiple TV's, surrond sound with a bunch of speakers, and then go make nice with someone who works with DIRECTV.

I put the Fins on the big 50" HD TV. On the 32" tv to the right I put on the next best game (or the game I have the most money on). On the 2 or 3 other smaller TV's I have other AFC East games that influence Miami.

And certain friends are NOT allowed over on Sunday's to watch the games.

Also, have a pool table and/or dart board around so you can vent and let out your frustration at the necessary times.

mike, i like it simple. anything i do that is not simple is out of an inherited chemical imbalance. mental illness has saved me lots of money.

one last thing: making nice with somebody from DIRECTV sounds creepy.

I usually watch alone or with my best friend who is a huge fin fan. He is a little too pesimistic for me, so if he comes over great if not great. I usually make some salsa, white grapes and caffiene free coke. Since the games are on at 10 am out here, I usually cook lunch, either a pizza or a steak on the grill. I have a lucky spot that I don't use very often...Its kneeling behind the couch in the praying position. That was the spot I was in during Lamars playoff touchdown run.

I watch the games alone. I hate going to a bar (for the non-televised ones) and having to behave myself. NFL Ticket is going to save my life!! :D

Anyway, I'm a big beliver in actions affecting the game. If the Phins won the week before, I'll wear the same clothes from the previous week and make sure I'm sitting at the same seat and distance from the TV.

I rearrange the living room a little bit so I can get closer to the TV. I've got all my remotes next to me and a laptop close by so I can monitor the site. I usually jump around a bit and get loose before kickoff.

I generally yell and stomp and cuss a lot during the game, regardless of how we're performing. The TV volume is full blast. In that regard, I try and create an atmosphere. The great thing about couches is that I can throw a remote 85 mph and it'll come back for more. :)

The phone won't be answered unless it's my immediate family (who's watching the game) or a staff member.

My neighbor says he gets a kick out of walking by my door when a game is on.

I'll eat during halftime. Football on a full stomach makes me that much happier. :D

I watch the game alone. My kids and wife know to leave me alone. I have my bevergaes and snacks on the table next to the recyliner. I always watch the games to the end, always thinking the fins have enough time to pull out the victory. That stems from the Marino's years, when no matter how far you were behind he would come and pull out the victory. I have on occasionsa tossed things and screamed out words that are probably not in the english dictionary.

yeah, anyone who started rooting for the Phins around the time marino was QBing (myself - december '83) is always gonna expect that magic the team once possessed. of course, i would imagine that if i had been a fan during their Day in the early 70's i would always have that as a standard for future Dolphins play.

I have shut off a game before it's over...only to turn it back on. I can't help but have the hope for a Marino-esque comeback.

it's funny how tv volume can make a difference, even when an analyst is talking negatively about your team or Phin player. in that case, the sound goes down.

quick story: 1985: monday night football - undefeated bears versus dolphins - sometime during first quarter my sound goes out. completely out. we go on to beat the bears and i swear this is true - after the win the sound comes back on. i was bitching about it until we started to win. now in hindsight, it makes sense.

I'm as happy watching alone or with 70,000 people at the stadium.... and every scenario in between.

Whenever, whatever, however.

Shoot I've gone out on my boat on gameday and just listened to it on the radio....on purpose!

I'll even miss a game completely if somewhere in my twisted mind I convince myself that it may help the team win.
