This OC search starting to feel like Daboll hire

Well..maybe the rumors are true ..Philbin wants to call his own plays. If thats the case..least hes showing if hes gonna go down..hes gonna go down swinging his way

Its comical reading all the assumptions being stated so emphatically, when none of us know what the FO is going to do.

Remember when Sporano was a lame duck coach and the search for a new OC got so desperate we had to hire the former Cleveland OC whose offense ranked like dead last.

Granted in Miami he actually improved our offense, especially when Matt Moore took over. But that entire regime was flushed the next year.

The hire reeked of leftovers, and now this ones starting too as well, particularly if Kubiak isn't hired. McAdoo and Lazor gone, and a report the Shanahan interview didn't go well.

If Kubiak isn't hired, whose left that can fit into our team without a complete offensive philosophy overhaul?

We are facing a calamity. Ben McAdoo signed with the Giants and Lazor with the Lions. Mando said the Kyle Shanahan interview went badly - Philbin forgot to smile. Feel free to hand out the razor blades, so we can all slash our wrists...
On second thoughts, let's just see who we appoint before getting frantic.

I never said it was a calamity, I said it's starting to feel, not even that it feels like. Sometimes people need to stop and actually read before posting.

And yes, Daboll actually improved the team. Which was not expected, but welcome to a degree. Out improved play put us way outta the Luck race.

I'm not going to panic. Do we even know that Lazor or McAdoo were offered the position? There were only reports that they interviewed. If we made an offer and they turned us down or pulled themselves out of the running, then I would be worried. Choosing to take another job doesn't really phase me.

Norv >>> Kubiak

Hell no! No no no no no no no no, you can't do that to me no no no no no!
I think that's even more "nos" than Robin used when she thought Ted was going to propose.

Brian Daboll actually did a pretty good job.

Here are the guys I know of who are available:

1. Gary Kubiak. No brainer. If he will take the job, you give it to him. You trip over your own feet rushing to give it to him.
2. Kyle Shanahan. Heard the interview 'did not go well.' He has run a WCO offense with similarities to Mike Sherman's in the past. Could be a decent hire.
3. Norv Turner. Say what you want, but Norv is a good OC and I wouldn't mind seeing him come back to have that job here again. He does not run a WCO.
4. Rob Chudzinski. Same as Norv, good OC but doesn't run a WCO.

Then you could look around the league at other teams' QB and WR coaches and see if they are open to be interviewed.

As far as the Dolphins staff, the only real candidate I know of is Ken O'Keefe. He was the OC at Iowa for like 12 years before coming here. I can't say I am familiar with Hawkeyes football, but everything I've heard from people who follow that school has been overwhelmingly negative.
I still think Scott Linehan is the best OC still on the market. With Kubiak a close 2nd.

Why not bring Daboll again???

That would be par for the course with these people running the team. I mean Daboll was so good he turned the 21st ranked offense in the league to the 22nd best offense in the league.
Seriously why would we hire an OC that longest tenure in three stints as an OC is 2 years. If Ne decided he wasn't good enough to be their OC maybe they are on to something.
In time Daboll may be a good OC but he isn't and he has had chances.

I think they already have a OC lined up...their waiting on the GM to be in place first.

Not sure that makesny sense but u never know. I personally don't think they have one lined up. I think McAdoo was the choice if they were going to make one but the Giants acted and we didn't plus its a more stable job possibly

As I just pointed out in another thread the Giants job could also prove to be less stable than the Dolphins job. We don't know yet, neither do McAdoo, the Giants or the Dolphins.
