This Sunday... marks the beginning of the end for Belicheck

He is a great coach but turned out to be a terrible GM and it looks like he finally ran out of good players to coach.

I expect them to earn some wins the hard way this year but will not be surprised, even kinda expect that they come in last in AFC East.

To be honest the Jets are more concerning to me right now. Dumpster fire of an organization but they have collected some skilled players and playmakers. If the Dolphins sleep on them, I can see them biting our behind in a close game. I don't think Bill has that type of wildcard to play this year.

You could be right, but It will take am embarrassment of a season for Belichick to pack it in.

Bill at one point was seeing the chance of being the winningest head coach ever, and though he is still 38 wins back to tie, if he is still winning, and feels up to it, that is only 4 more seasons of 10 win average, or 5 seasons in 8 wins average.

Personally if his teams are averging 10 wins, I believe he may stick it out (That's who he is), but if they're averaging 8 wins, Belichick's pride will not allow him to go the 4 years.

If his team is embarrassed this year, he may very well be history.
Let's help him "make history" this year - LOL

I think Belicheck has fielded teams in the past that looked very talent deficient but because of Brady, they were still able to win. Now that Brady is gone, I think Belicheck is in trouble. This year we will see either a complete collapse of the team or that we were all wrong.
THIS!!!!

Each helped make the other look good.
Without Bilichick there would be no Brady.
Yeah, I agree with this too. Those first two or three Super Bowl wins were mostly defense and an opportunistic offense. Brady was not asked to carry the team throughout the entire season. He just had to be "clutch" when the game was on the line, but they didn't need to score 35-40 points regularly to win.

i think Brady proved to all the doubters who was mainly responsibe for their dynasty.
that reason why u draft qb..BB took chance on Brady and it work out for both off them.. Brady aint only reason N.E when all of them SB..

every couple of years we hear that this is the end of NE/BB and then they come back and do way better than expected.......we used to say that brady couldn’t play forever and once he's gone the division is ours.......well, he left NE and Buffalo took over so instead of being worry about what NE is going to do, Buffalo is the team we're trying to catch now so we better beat NE at home in that heat but Buffalo is the main competition for the east.

Do you think Kraft would put up with a few 4 or 5 win seasons in a row if they collapse and need a rebuild? I don't think so.
I dont think N.E is that bad off team except they need better wr....

At this point I have more proof on my side that he was..

of course beliceks is a good coach, but the biggest variable is brady imo

From 2007 on I would agree with you.

But early career Tom Brady wasn't much better than Mac Jones. The Patriots won on defense.

Bill Bellichick has really never changed his format. Jones was asked not to lose games as New England relied on its defense.

The problem is the really good offensive teams can exploit this defense. I remember Philadelphia versus New England in the super bowl and how BB had no answers. Same with Buffalo last year, Kansas City etc.

So, yes in general I do agree with your assessment.

I've been monitoring the NE situation fairly closely and there are red flags all over the Patriots team this year.

1) No real offensive mind in the building. They have not only struggled in camp and preseason, some Pats beat writers have said this offense is the worst they have seen since covering the team.

2) Playmakers ... they have very few and Mac Jones will not have McDaniels helping him cover his warts. Mac Jones will have a sophomore slump the likes we have never seen.

3) Defense is very very thin. They have zero depth and their secondary is the weakest it's been in 20 years.

This brings me to my bold prediction. This will be the worst Pats team Belicheck has had since arriving in NE. I could see a 5 or 6 win season for NE. This could end up being one of the last seasons Belicheck coaches in NE. I feel like he's already got one foot out the door and the Patriots talent wise are due for a total rebuild next year or the year after. I think Belicheck knows this and will not be along for the ride when the rebuild happens.

Ultimately the only person responsible for their downfall is their GM.... which is also Belicheck, his draft picks over the years are not good and last years bank vault draining FA crop was not enough to cover these draft deficiencies.

I expect BB to try to take away the pass game. See if the Pats can get consistent pressure on TT. Test the Fins OL. If the OL can't hold, it's a long day. That said, I don't expect that to be successful.
On NE's O, just the opposite. Establish the run.

I see so much excitement, I hope and feel Miami should win this game. But let’s not get overconfident.
