Three Headed Manster at Dolphins DT

The Defensive Line was not our problem. The problem was always our Linebackers.

And I'll give you three names, one or two could be on this team in the near future, who could replace Soliai/Starks:

1. Aaron Donald

2. Timmy Jernigan

3. Dominique Easley

Pretty good DT class in this year's draft + its time to get younger. Calm down.

Well i hope these guys you mentioned is say one is a 2nd rounder one is a 3rd rounder and the other is a 4th rounder , because if not we will be lucky to even get one of the 3 , because we only have 1 pick in each round .....

How many DT's have come out of the draft to be good their first season in the last 5 years? How many who were not #1 picks?

Sheldon Richardson, Star Lotulelei (was picked right after), Akeem Spence, Kawaan Short last year.
Dontari Poe, Michael Brockers, Derek Wolfe, Akiem Hicks in 2012.
Jurell Casey, Nick Fairley, Phil Taylor in 2011.
Odrick, Gerald McCoy, Ndamukong Suh, Linvall Joseph, Geno Atkins in 2010.
BJ Raji, Peria Jerry, Ziggy Hood, Sen'Derrick Marks, Terrance Knighton in 2009.

Jernigan will probably go in the 1st, Donald will probably drop to the 2nd because of his size, and Easley should be available in the late 2nd-4th because of his injury. RaShede Hageman, Will Sutton, Kelcy Quarles, Anthony Johnson, Ego Ferguson, and Daniel McCullers will also be available in that 2nd-4th range although I'd stick with Jernigan in the 1st considering history.

You don't let good players go just to get young!!! How'd that work with the LB's last year, huh?

Man, I can see that Ireland may be gone...but the ignorant Ireland view of talent is still alive and well on this site!

These guys were not mansters this year. Keep one of Starks and Solai let the other one walk.
You cant invest major money in three damn DT. Grimes should be number one priority.
Hopefully we get Grimes a three year contract anything over would not be smart because he will be 31 when season begins.
Its not good investment to give two DT's a high paying contract when both are in their 30's.
Wouldn't go above a three year on either

Did not save money in the swap, that was the main problem.

Resign one of them. Preferably Big Paul. They are both good players but just too expensive to pay both with our holes everywhere else. Draft a DT in the 2-4 range...Id love Donald in the 2nd but not sure he will get to us there.

Also...Im thinking Jordan is going to be seeing the field ALOT more next year given a full off-season and thus we can expect Vernon to be rushing the passer from the inside more often as well on 3rd down (which he did very successfully this year)

The 2 will be 31 this year, demanding big payday. It's time to get younger and more affordable, Money will be needed for the Oline in FA.

This.

You can put up all the stats you want. But what I saw on the field was an interior of the defensive line that started really strong but was getting a lot less push up the middle by about the fourth game and became increasingly vulnerable to the run shortly after that. Don't get caught up in signing Starks/Soliai from 2011 in 2014. Better to let them go a year too early than a year too late, unless the price is right.

One of the older guys will have to go, you can't keep everybody in this league.

You have to keep reloading with younger guys and hopefully they step up. Was glad to see AJ Francis return from New England, I like his potential.
