He's need to get out of it now. He needs to start. Him and Marshall

Sean Smith covering Andre Johnson is laughable at this point week 1. No way that will end well. I honestly don't know what else they can do to get this guy motivated. If we don't find a way to get some intense pass rush this year, the secondary might be the worst in the league.

I think Gates is gone... I know we don't anyone else on this team with his speed, but what good is his speed when he can't run good enough routes to get open or catch the ball as consistantly as others. IMO, he's behind Nannee, Bess, Johnson, Hartline, Wallace, Pruitt, and Moore for sure. And now with Matthews showing value as a returner he's losing some space between him as well.

My thumbs up--
Ryan Tannehill- He made some unbelievable throws tonight. Throws that we haven't seen a Dolphin's QB make in a long time. The most impressive thing to me was how comfortable he looked out there. The game didn't seem to be moving too fast for him and he looked in complete control. Great start to his career.

Roberto Wallace- I think he has the most potential of any other WR on this team. The word on him from the beat writers though, is that he isn't conistant enough. I think he needs to put together another game like this to guarantee himself a roster spot.

Charles Clay and Anthony Fasano- They look like they could be a great 1-2 punch for us at TE for us this season. Probably not at the level of Hernandez and Gronk, but I'll take what they showed us tonight. Fasano is just a good reliable target underneath while Clay looks like he could be a great seam threat for us.

Jason Trusnik- The only defender in the first half that stood out imo. He was all over the place. We really need depth at LB and it's great to see we might have a capable backup there.

Thumbs down--
The entire secondary- Just a horrible way to start the season. You had a bunch of everything thrown in there. Sean Smith whiffed on a tackle that led to a touchdown, Vontae got straight up beat a couple of times, Reshad Jones took some bad angles AGAIN, and Jimmy Wilson just played that ball as bad as you possibly could. Wilson took the correct angle but then tried to field it like a punt which allowed the WR to snag the pass away from him. It should have been a pick and turned into points for Tampa. This unit really needs to step up the next few games.

Chad Johnson- Wasn't in there long, but that would've been a huge first down for us. We were looking impressive that opening drive and his drop plus Carpenter's missed FG just killed momentum for us. He ran a great route and hopefully his drop isn't a sign of things to come otherwise he won't be here for long.

Starting Interior OL- We didn't really run block that well to start the game, but Bush bailed out the OL with a few nice moves. Also seemed like we had a lot of tipped balls which means the OL isn't getting into their man good enough. Wasn't as bad as last year, but we still have room to improve.

I also thought Pruitt, Freeney, Matthews, and Egnew had solid games as well. It was ugly there for awhile but there ended up being some good things to take out of this game.

i thought keeston randall looked pretty good...i think he's a keeper...artis hicks sure looked like he was on the ground a lot

lamar miller looks very stiff and heavy..he looks like ernest byner not a bigplay back..gates needs to be the kickoff guy..remember aaron craver who looked great without pads for the fins another thurman thomas as soon as the pads went on he became stiff..and was converted to fullback.

i would also like marshall and davis to be the starting corners..they both can tackle..smith should be in there in certain plays.

your kidding? lamar picked up a key first down tonight on a screen play with his explosive burst.

Also, the backup o-line is terrible, they created 0 holes for lamar. Put reggie back there with the backup o-line and he would have gotten crushed.

Ummmm where?

problem with trusnick is he has no pass rush skills...tackles will eat him for breakfast...odrick wake vernon and shelby...him and westerman ehhh...

I thought the first offensive line played poorly as a unit. I thought Shelby, Trusnik, Spitler, Randall, and Freeny stood out in an otherwise poor defensive effort, particularily by the first team. Sean Smith and Vontae Davis should be ashamed.
My issues with Chad are not his fault. He is on a team that needs to develop talent and really shouldn't be here. Same for Nananee. Wallace, Pruitt, Cunningham, Clay, Engew, and Fasano stood out in the passing game.

And Wake had a poor game, particularily setting the edge.

You do realize Matthews averaged almost 40 yards a return tonight right..?

i don't know who the backup mike is but i don't see it on the roster...austin spitler has as much instincts as channing crowder did...good luck

Jones is Georgia boy and I am a Georgia grad. But he is a liability in the secondary.

lamar miller needs to run tougher b/t the tackles inside...at this level sometimes you got to drop your head and take what you can get...looked a little timid to me...and is it me or is he wearing a shoulder harness under his uni???

wake will need to step it up .cause teams our gonna run his way ..today he was not giving no effort vs. the run.misi played a lot harder..carpenter can't seem to hit long fieldgoals always to the right?

daniel thomas got popped in the hole by mason cause he didn't have good pad level...that seems to be a recurring theme with him too upright and lets guys t off under his pads

jerome messam looks like his ticket is punched for the cfl...i hope you're renting my friend...ha ha
