Tillman at CB? Cut Patterson

Tillman is only realistic *for our team* if he comes in at a modest, 2 year/$6mil type of contract - he won't sign that and if he does, he'd get it from a much better team than ours.

He's worth the $5mil/year he'll probably get but we're not there yet, he's a final piece of the puzzle and we don't even have all those pieces yet.

And to the guy who said Patterson is as good, or even better than, Brent Grimes - you're high.

That's a stretch right here.

Patterson isn't on the same scale as Grimes, not even close. He made some plays, has good instincts but Grimes is lock down. Very few CBs in this league are considered lock down, and Grimes is one of them

Not saying he is a better corner, just saying if you consider what he did in the little time he was there, he looked really good, so good you could actually argue he was even better.

Obviously if he had played a whole season, Grimes would have been the top corner (He is an amazing talent), but Patterson might have given teams fits where to throw the ball.

If Tillman has any brains, why would he come to this mess unless we massively overpay for his services? At this point in his career, I'm sure he wants to be playing for Superbowls not helping to rebuild a third rate franchise.

Wish they could give him a deal that pays him mostly based on how many games he plays. If he gives it a shot and can't play he makes a few bucks for the effort and the Fins don't lose much. If he can play he could make some money and the Fins keep a decent player.

I rather have Patterson at 5.4 than Tillman at the same number. If they decide to cut Patterson it is most likely because they go back to Carroll who im not a huge fan of or they go to the young guys with Taylor and Davis.

I would cut Patterson and then offer him an incentive laden contract with 2 mil base salary. otherwise, let the young ones step up into roles while resigning Carroll and Grimes. Position is pretty locked up IMO.
