Tim was just interviewed on the Mike & Mike show and believes that Chad is an "above average athlete" can make all of the throws but too often makes a throw that makes you wonder what exactly was he looking at???? On Monday watching film he gets you downright uncomfortable with some of his mistakes. Now if he can eliminate some of them he believes that Chad has upside.......Anybody else hear the show????

I did. Agreed with about everything. Basically - Stretches of good play overall, then just combined with ******* stuff out of nowhere. Potential is there..he won't be that Manning type, but he can be a "winning" QB. He has this year in my opinion. Henning was just awful with the playcalling, especially in and/or near the redzone let's be honest. I was a huge fan of the Wildcat, Wildcat, send Henne in for 3rd and 14 situations.

Its true, Henne can make the throws, but when he does he always makes that 1 mistake.. Henne and this offense would drive down the field and always stall.. A lot of it has to do with the play-calling too. How many times did we see Henning call a play with 1 WR out to pass, or a 2-11 draw, or something like that..

Henne has the physical tools to be a good QB, the mental part of his game needs work, and his timing with his WRs.

I have it on in my maintenance office at work I just walked out, I agree with his assessment, hassleback has been high on henne for a few years, hey look I rip on henne a lot and thats because I'm a big michigan football fan and I've been watching him for years now, he was so inconsistent at michigan it wasnt even funny, but the guy does have potential, he has ideal nfl size 6'3 230 and can make all the nfl throws, he just has to limit the mistakes, last year we all know the playcalling was terrible from dan henning so lets see how he can adjust to dabolls offense, go to youtube and watch his game last year against the jets on sunday night football the kid was on fire, and what about the game two years ago monday night against the jets when he had that 4th qrt comeback and he looked poised in the pocket? so he can improve and it can be done, he is not "horrible" and i agree he can be above average, its just the little intangibles that worry me, his pre-snap reads, processing information, his robotic mechanics, is he a leader? is he an alpha-male? do the players look at him as the leader and does he command respect and attention in the huddle? and most importantly does he have "it"? one thing i can tell u is the kid works hard and that goes back to his high school days, i remember watching michigan games and the commentators talking about how he would show up to the gym at 5am before school and workout and that carried over to college, and ive also heard he is one of the first people at the gym and last to leave with the phins, so the work ethic is there so lets see what happens this year because this is his final shot, just limit mistakes and DONT TURN THE BALL OVER, we have a solid defense that will keep us in games, if he can give us 3700 yrds, 22td, 14int that would be solid!

These 1 WR out on a pass play need to stop and never happen again. I read somewhere last year that they would run pass plays with 1 option for Henne to look at and if it wasn't there to throw it away... what the fuzz? I mean I could understand that if it was a fade in the endzone which more than likely you throw that ball anyway and rely on your WR to come down with it, but to run plays like that midfield??? COME ON!!!

yea and play action on 3rd &12 with only one receiver running a route! dan henning was terrible last year!

I'm not a Henne fan, but it's not his fault he's so damn tentative and makes poor decisions. Sparano and Henning absolutely ruined his confidence by not allowing him to play balls out, all in football. The coaching staff micromanages every little move about his game and I think that's the biggest problem.

Its true, Henne can make the throws, but when he does he always makes that 1 mistake.. Henne and this offense would drive down the field and always stall.. EXACTLY, how many times did we see Henne drive the ball down the field, and then get pulled out mid-rythm so we could run 2 wildcat plays for -1 yards. Then, they put Henne BACK IN on 3rd and 12 and he either throws an int or a check down for 6 yards. I'm not completely opposed to the wildcat, but don't do it while your QB is in rythm with the hot hand; it makes no sense.

IMO, Henning's play calling wreaked havoc on Henne's timing and confidence. Which, I believe, is why he got worse as the season went on. Every time Henne got pulled for a WC play it was like a vote of No-Confidence.

I REALLY hope Henning took his stupid "QB Hating / QB is a liability" philosophy with him when he left.

I remember last year against the steelers henne was starting to seriously heat up and then it was 1st & 10 from the steelers 30yrd line or something and we ran 3 straight wildcat plays!!! the playcalling did not help at all last year!

Did either one of the dynamic dual respond when Tim told him he believed Chad had upside? I would really be interested to know, because both Mikes (For different reasons) don't like Miami very much, so can't see both being quiet when told Henne has upside.

I'm still intrigued to see what Henne can do without Dan Henning calling the plays. Now, I know a guy like Peyton Manning would have said "eff this" and eventually call his own plays, but that's Peyton Manning. Henne, at least at this stage of his career, probably needs to have a good offensive coordinator to be successful, so let's see what happens this year.

Are Mike and Mike trying to cover up their disapproval for all things Dolphins by having their ESPN cronies and talk the Phins up now?
