Time to bring the Shula family back home....hire Mike Shula.

Mike Shula would have more of a HC resume than Philbin did upon his hire and there was and are Philbin supporters.
Shula in many ways would be a great choice for various reasons
He has HC experience (bama), he has been succesful coordinator & yes I like the idea of closing door on the mistake of forcing Don out.

As for a sexy choice that fans would want Harbaugh, Gruden, Cowher
Seriously they have all had opportunitys to have a job in Miami and didn't take the job, my feeling is they won't reconsider.

Mike Holgrem would possibly be an interesting choice however again, how much better a coach are you getting at this point?

Its easy to dismiss M.Shula but if not Shula who?
Who walks into this franchise and instantly makes this franchise relevant?
Ireland may have had it right with McCoy however he does have Rivers not Tannehill at QB.

Its frustrating for sure, but if in my opinion Miami could not hire a proven succesful NFL head coach I'm on board with hiring Mike Shula.

I saw them pan to Shula during the Carolina game last night and thought through it a bit. His resume is more polished than Philbin's was when we hired him. If we were to somehow lose enough games to get a top 10 draft pick we might get a shot at a real QB prospect (several plays yesterday convinced me that Tannehill isn't our guy). At this point why not? A real DC will probably be available for him. Correct me if I'm wrong but this is Coyle's first DC job he's taken the D down a few notches.
Whenever I see them pan to Philbin and he's looking at the ground I can't help but think he is looking for gum wrappers or shoe laces...
