How is it you propose to "Clean house"?
Seeing as how the owner is the owner.
Seeing as how the owner is the owner.
Sorry.....I fully understand your frustration, but I don't agree with blowing this up from where we sit today and starting all over again.
This organization needs some stability, not constant upheaval. We have a new OC, new GM, will shortly have a new OL coach and some key positions that need to be filled. Your theory is based on us firing everyone and hoping that we get it right next time. There is no gaurantee that any of that happens.
And yes, I can remember many times when the Phins organization meant integrity and winning. Based on your 1971 date, I have you beat by a few years......
Fellow Finfans! I very rarely take the time to vent...but for what it's worth...
1. It is time to clean house! I am sick and tired of our goof-ball owner doing a half-a$$ job and sweeping things under the rug...then hoping the dirt won't be seen later! Firing Ireland was the right thing to do...but that wasn't enough! Ross has loss this once proud franchise's integrity. Remember the Don Shula days? Remember when we always griped about losing in the playoffs yet Shoes kept us "in it..it seemed like every year" Remember how proud and the integrity the franchise had in the "good ol' days?"
2. Fire Philbin! He is a lousy head coach and is completely out of touch with HIS lockerroom. The whole scandle thing with Incognito and Martin happened because there was no expectations in place and no inspection of those expectations. Philbin and HIS staff are to blame...plan and simple.
3. Sell the damn team! Sell it to the people (like Green Bay) or to at least an owner who has the balls to do the right thing! Sell it to someone who is about winning...doing it the right way...instead of this Hollywood-showmen sh$# the we have in place now. Sell it to someone who will bring back the old ways...the old 70 or 80's uniforms and the integrity that they represented.
In short, some of you may disagree with this venting...and that's ok...if you do, I have to ask ONE question...Do you remember when someone mentioned the Miami Dolphins your attention immediately perked because that name represented integrity and winning?....I do!

Blowing what Up? Mediocrity? What do we have right now? Average Head Coach. Goofy Owner. Unproved QB, no Running Back or O Line. Laughing Stock Bully Gate. Time for real change dude. Blow this **** up.
I agree with you and Philbin should've been fired based on the performance in the last 2 games alone. Fact is Philbin's not getting canned, if he was they would've let Caserio do it. In my mind, if we miss the playoffs next year, Joe and Hickey must go and maybe we can get Harbaugh. While I prefer the 70's uniforms, we're not bringing them back. While Ross makes Huizenga look like Ed Debartelo Jr, we're going to have to deal with him at least for a few more years. It is a travesty what has happened to this once proud franchise, but things can change rather quickly in the NFL and every team goes through a rough stretch. One guy can change the entire dynamic of a franchise, whether that be a player, coach, GM, or owner. Our savior is out there somewhere.Fellow Finfans! Blow it up and do what? What exactly is your plan?
I would Trade Down. Stock pile talent. Get rid of dead weight like Daniel Thomas, Michael Egnew, Matt Moore. Get Dion Jordan on the Field. We have been bad at evaluating our own talent. Guys leave here and play better elsewhere, just look at Dansby and Bush this past year. We should have never hired Hickey we need to get young behind the scenes and on the team. Should have hired the Dude from New England, let him fire Philbin, get rid of Dawn. All we have doing is been playing it safe which breeds mediocrity. It will be more of the same this year. Trust me. We are not going anywhere with Joe or Ross. So to answer your question, blow it up, let the best players play no matter where they are drafted instead of holding on to scrubs like Matt Moore and Daniel Thomas, think either of those Dudes are playing let alone starting on any other NFL team? Nope. Let's see what Pat Devlin can do this pre season etc. Play the best Dudes.
Cant stand losing man. We finished in 3rd place this past year after starting out 3-0. Went 4-4 at home, not good enough. Need real changes and direction, not currently happening with the Dolphins as the usual.
That's not a plan...that's cutting dead weight. Who's your coach, who's your GM?? I get that this should have been the strategy at the START of the offseason, but without a time machine there's simply no way we would be able to improve this team through cleaning house this late in the process.
Good Point Dude. We are in Finheaven so it really at the end of the day does not matter, nothing we can do.
But I would have liked this much better.
GM Nick Caserio
Head Coach Mike Shula
That would have brought real change. We passed on Caserio, who did a awesome job with New England personnel decisions for old balls Hickey from Tampa...
Mike Shula could have brought history and a sense of resurgence back. Instead 2014, same old slop.
If his name was Mike Shmuck would you still hire him? If you wouldn't then I'm not sure that would've been a smart move. I definitely agree that Caserio would've been an upgrade.
Personally I would've started the whole process a couple days sooner, walking papers on the first Monday to Ireland and Philbin. Then I'd get the best guy I can, Licht would've been up there assuming a couple of the other guys like Gamble and Decosta weren't interested. Then I'd let him pick the coach, maybe a guy like Wisenhunt. But I haven't put enough thought into a coach...it has been far to obvious from the start that Philbin would be kept for whatever reason.
I agree Dude. I think the GM we would have wanted, would have wanted to Fire Philbin, which is the reason we are now stuck with Hickey. As far as Mike Shula, he did a great job in Carolina, and I would be more excited about giving him a shot (it's in his blood) what has Philbin ever done? You may not agree, but I think Shula could have brought back a stability and a new start. Lat year was a disaster in every way, the last 2 games, bullygate. Shula has credibility because of his Father, and the job he did last year. A legacy dude. Philbin will be more of the same next year.
