Lorenzo Diamond didn't look all that bad, I just hate him wearing #40. Thompson missed a pass, through his hands, that would have put us inside the 20. You can't miss passes like that, especially when it goes through your hands. I think Gilmore had a great game, he runs with a smooth motion, made a great adjustment on that TD, and was able to do everything good a receiver should do for the ball. Gilmore won the job over Thompson in this game alone.

Players I would cut right now: Derrius Thompson, Donald Lee, Reggie Howard.

Thompson and Lee can't keep their ****ing focus enough to catch passes that hit their hands, and Howard apparently still has not learned to play the Corner position in the NFL, evidenced by the pass on which he got beat by 5 steps to the 1, and the other pass that he was lucky was an incompletion down the right sideline, when he was beat by 3-4 steps.

All are dead weight, all are making mistakes that involve lack of concentration or focus and all are hurting the team by taking up roster spots and repetitions in camp that could go to players that are worth a damn!

I wouldn't even wait - I'd cut them before the flight back and make them fly separately, not with the team.

The team would instantly have a chance to become better by their mere absence.

I wouldn't give up on DT yet. But at least we don't have to rely on him. After this year he is history. Lee is done. I will take Diamond or Rader over him. If he was a great blocker, ok, but he just sucks all around. Howard sucks too, but I don't think we can afford to let him go, we need corners. We may regret that Surtain trade for at least this year, until Roth gets up to speed

Hey Im not trying to smack talk here it really is just about what I saw going on. But there is no way your DBs could really be a slow as they looked last night.
I kept having flashbacks of Earthwind Morland playing CB for the Patriots.
Nearly every time a bears QB went deep a WR was 3-4 yards past any DBs.
Saban needs to be on top of someone big time. I kept hearing the talking heads say how the Miami D was so solid. My thought was what game are you two watching? Even Taylor lookes a little lost at the moment.

I will agree your O-line still looks like it needs some help. Your depth is very poor. Quinn Dorsey an undrafted LB/DE 6'4" 260lbs who was traded to the Bears by the Patriots last year was in the backfield more than some of your RBs.
Hope you show much improvment before long. Your first 7 games in the reg season could be ugly if your DBs don't get it together alot more.

Thompson and Lee have had plenty of time to prove themselves in the past years. In fact they have already proven the fact that they drop more than they catch. Another one that cannot be trusted is Mario Edwards. Remember the Cowboys and Dolphins game on Thanksgiving Day. Edwards literally gave us that game. It was beautiful. I was at that game and Edwards could not stop anything. Chambers loved it too. He said just keep throwing it. Edwards will either let me catch it or he will get a penalty.
