Time to drop some dead weight off the ship...

I disagree with this. When it comes to guys like Lee, Thompson, Howard......we have seen it all before. This isn't JUST THE 1ST PRESEASON GAME for them. It's the same old song and dance
I actually agree with MikeO for once. The same sentiments go for my thoughts on Feeley. I don't hate Feeley as a person, strictly from a player STANDPOINT he has done the same things for 4-5 years whether he is practicing, backing up, or starting (my fiance is from philly so I am familiar with him when there too).

I've grown physically tired of seeing the same play from Howard, Lee, Thompson, Mckinney, Whitley, Konrad before his retirement, and Minor. these guys aren't rookies people!! What you see is what you get. Less than 2% of all players going through the NFL have some kind of epiphany and turn around to be great players later on.

Seth Mckinney should be the first to go and he should take his buddy Taylor Whitley with him.

AMEN!!!!! Preach on...preach on...PREACH ON!!!!!

Players I would cut right now: Derrius Thompson

Chambers
Booker
Boston
Gilmore
Thompson

He is 5th on the depth chart. You are going nuts about the 5th WR......

If you can find a better 5th Wr in football, I'd love to see him.

Amen.

And, 5th wide receiver or 1st, if you can't count on him, you can't count on him, period. Let him go drop passes that hit his hands on some other team.

And bring on the youngsters; give me a Brian Gilmore anyday over a Derrius Thonpson.

Thompson played pretty well last year. He had one drop Monday night. Aren't you overreacting just a bit?

Do actually believe that he never catches the ball? Really? Come on....

You're really not getting the point. If you can't count on him, what do you do? Put him out there when you need him and say, "Oh, well, I hope he doesn't do what he does so often in this situation, which is drop the ball that the QB puts right in his hands!"

All the way down your depth chart, you need guys you can count on to perform. They don't have to be the biggest or fastest, or the best at their positions. They just need to be able to be counted on.

The prime example of this philosophy is in our own division, guys, and they hold three SB rings using it.

Howard is a decent dime CB. That's it. We have a huge hole at the #2 CB spot. I'd bring in Bobby Taylor and another post final cuts CB to compete for that spot. We better get that spot shored up. Pats and Jets will likely attack that weakness. Daniels seems a good fit at the nickel spot and Howard - the dime. I can live with that. Plus we get Will Poole back in November so that will help. Someone like Bobby Taylor can provide some good veteran leadership.

Do you have any evidence whatsoever that he drops more passes that anybody else that is available to replace him?

David Terrell is 4th or 5th on the depth chart in NE. What is he best known for? Dropping passes.

I'll take Danny Farmer over Thompson. Thompson can't be counted on. If he had never scored the TD last season against the Pats, no one would be defending him.

Thompson and Lee can't keep their ****ing focus enough to catch passes that hit their hands, and Howard apparently still has not learned to play the Corner position in the NFL, evidenced by the pass on which he got beat by 5 steps to the 1, and the other pass that he was lucky was an incompletion down the right sideline, when he was beat by 3-4 steps.

All are dead weight, all are making mistakes that involve lack of concentration or focus and all are hurting the team by taking up roster spots and repetitions in camp that could go to players that are worth a damn!

I wouldn't even wait - I'd cut them before the flight back and make them fly separately, not with the team.

The team would instantly have a chance to become better by their mere absence.

Yes, we should just go ahead and make all our final cuts and cancel the final four games of the pre-season, afterall, what more could we possibly learn from those four games that we didn't learn in one hall of fame game?

He scored 4 TDs last year. 2nd most among the WRs.

Danny Farmer will be selling insurance in 3 weeks.

I feel more confidetn with Wes Welker at #5 than DT. At least we know Welker will be a little fireplug and scrap it out. Welker is a perfect example of what you want at those deep positions: someone who LOVES to play, WANTS to play, and scraps for every ounce they can get.

That still doesn't make up for him dropping so many passes.
