nobody has at this point. right now its a guessing game on the 2 teams that are in deep negotiation. i wouldn't be surprised if a call was placed, but I am sure thats as far as it got for us.

* I am dead wrong? Why do you think that players get 100% of their garaunteed money in one year? Cant believe you do you not realize that gauranteed money is spread over the life of a contract? Clearly they are not the same as you have tried to percieve.
* He is not looking for 8M/year. As stated and reported he is looking for 9-10M/year. He was scheduled to make 10.5M
I am not saying I would not want him, but realistically he would NEVER sign a one year deal with anyone (regardless of garaunteed money) over a long term deal that would pay him the same as a 1 year garuanteed money deal, for obvious reasons.

and how about the rest of the team? the thing i have always heard the most about him is being almost un coachable and a pain in the arse, on the field and in the locker room. he has ZERO respect for authority [to much hip hop] and even has taunted coaches in games and in meetings [to much hip hop].
chip kelley sees a talented team with good young players and isnt going to let desean spoil it all pretending he is the resurrection of tupac. kudos for coach kelley for being a man of principle and not caving in and keeping desean around just to hopefully win another game or two!! its not going to be popular, but its a GREAT message to the team.
desean is an awsome talent, but a guy like that can be a team killer. i dont like seeing gangstas, the real ones or the wanna bees. i dont like seeing them get free college rides and skate through and i dont like them getting mega bux from sports. and i dont want that kind of player on my team. i'm sorry but the old saying about birds of a feather flock together is true. and folks are not nailing him because some gangsta jumps in a photo op at the local rap club, he is being nailed because of the ones he is CLOSE TO AND RUNS AROUND WITH!!!
if he was anti gang and a good character guy, he wouldnt be around them. he wouldnt want to be. and with the money he has, he can keep the hood out of his life [if he wants to].
the un coachable thing, the taunting of coaches is almost as bad, football wise anyways. you have young guys coming in from college, out of the hood and a constant stream of hip hop in their headphones. like all young people, their impressionable. you get them in a locker room with a desean jackson type and things go bad, real quick!!! and it gets passed on over and over until the inmates are running the asylum. its happened many, many times in sports.

AND FRANKLY, the "i dont care as long as i am entertained, paid, hired is awful!! the "i dont care about anyones conduct or morals" is the main reason the world is what it is right now. decency, morals, truth, character, law...... ALL used to mean something and most people believed and lived their lives that way. its NO COINCIDENCE that society has gone down the crapper, crime and violence are the highest EVER and the country has been almost destroyed with this popular "do what you want as long as i get mine" code of conduct.
gangstas [weather desean is one or not] should NEVER be rewarded with millions for playing a game. should NEVER be given a scholarship to a university. hard labor camps, not nfl, nba, mlb training camps. and people should should be sending strong messages to these schools and sports teams when they do close their eyes and bring in dirt bags and gangstas, no more buying season tickets, or any ticket, tell them your pulling your kids from the college/university if these types are allowed in. THE TEACHERS/PROFESSORS should be a committee to check the grades and test players to see if they are really studying and earning their scholarship or are they are skating by and someone else is taking their tests or planting passing grades.

OK points taken. I was not quite advocating for morals and ethics be gone...That said I appreciate your thoughtful point of view on the subjects.
I am making fun of Philbin though because in part because it was so glaringly incongruent for Philbin to be prioritizing "character" and then to have our organization dragged through the mud by a couple stooges living out their infintile dramas.
Additionally I find the front offices of the various Major League sports to be full of CRAP! The NFL leads the way! They profited off of guys doing steroids (just like Baseball) but when the trouble came down the pike they passed the buck. NFL locker-rooms are places where hazing and harsh peer pressures rule the day.
A guy smokes pot in college his draft position drops....Does that make him poor character? Does it make him a worse football player? DJax may or may not run with gangsters - but Bryan Cox did too...He openly admitted as much... Many of these guys come from the ghetto or extreme family backgrounds....They spend their lives having to deal with being asked to help those who they left behind....Many believe Ray Lewis got away with murder...Ray Rice stood over his knocked out girlfriend...The Ravens backed both players....So its a more complex picture then that.... I do not know what DJax situation is but nor does anyone else...And Talib was a character issue - well NE did just fine with him - Randy Moss was a pot smoking character issue - teams that took him on did just fine...So i am pushing on issue that has gray zone in it and I am concerned about what I saw as a colossal fail by Philbin - not that I think believe that Incognito did anything out of the ordinary - more like the reality that it created a huge media stir - that reflected on poor team management!
For my detractors that say salary cap - I say we have $16million right now - I say go for bust - its not about DJax specifically - although he's as good a battle ground as any on the subject - but its about an attitude to go out their and get messy on purpose - and stop getting in trouble by accident!!!

it's not about D Jax it is much more complex then that for me. I just get pissed with Miami when we decide to sit on the sidelines and let opportunity pass us by. So what we have Mike Wallace. So having Mike Wallace and D Jax is not a better situation? Would D jax make Miami Better? Sure he would. Can Miami afford him? YES! So why not go for broke? Try to be elite for once!
The issue with his charactor is BLOWN WAY OUT OF PROPORTION. NRA not sure where you get some of your quotes from but the lockeroom in Philly supports D Jax. He was supposed to be meeting with the Redskins today. I don't know what their cap space looks like now but it would be a big F You to Philly if he signs in Washington.
