TMZ may have just screwed the NFL (Ray Rice again)

So TMZ got a hold of the video from INSIDE the elevator. It clearly shows Rice punching his at-the-time Fiancee square in the face. Not only that but he just stands there and stares are her while she is crumpled up on the floor. You will have to follow the link at the bottom to see the video as it has not appeared on their YouTube channel yet for me to post it here. Here is what TMZ published:

Inside the elevator it's apparent he strikes first ... she hits back ... and then Rice delivers the knockout blow.The punch knocks Janay off her feet -- and she smashes her head on the elevator hand rail ... knocking her out cold. Ray doesn't seem phased ... and when the door opens, he drags her out into the hotel.


An employee of the hotel -- which just shut down for good -- tells TMZ Sports he was working there at the time and says the NFL saw the elevator footage before imposing the 2-game suspension.

The NFL screwed up BIG time on this one and they knew it too. Why else rewrite the domestic violence policy if they knew they hadn't ****ed up?
 
What a ****ing punk. The worst part of this is that she came back to him in spite of the tremendous odds that he'll do it again.
 
Disgusting. There's times that you have to defend yourself regardless of the sex, but there's no excuse here. Not at all.

I highly doubt he'd try that with Tim Bowens.

Something needs to be done. Because two games is absolute bull****. If what the employee said is true and the NFL saw this video BEFORE handing out punishment means they hoped it wouldn't get out.

something clearly has to be done whether it's the NFL stepping in, the Ravens releasing him or even Ray looking at that tape and saying I will take the rest of the year off. something has to be done.
 
I think Ray Rice is a terrible person, but keep in mind that she is now his wife. If he is suspended without pay for a year, HIS WIFE IS ALSO PUNISHED.
 
The NFL is saying they didn't see that video so there will definitely be a new punishment. I will be surprised if he plays at all this year.

Don't buy that for a second as the hotel said that they showed Goddell the tape.
 
Disgusting. Absolutely disgusting.

I can't believe the NFL is saying they haven't seen this video. I have a real hard time believing that. In fact, I believe that's a full fledged lie. Without question Rice should be suspended for the year.

And JDW, I hear your concern for saying that his wife will also be punished, but she married him knowing the consequences. If she actually loves him, she'll support him through thick and thin. If she married him for the NFL/$$$ factor, well then... it's a mute point.
 
the irritating thing on top of the lack of suspension by the nfl is the dirtbag ravens, applauding and sending out Ray Rice at training camp. I wonder if he's going to celebrated by the ravens when he's back from his 2 game suspension? John Harbaugh says he would not stand for his players hitting women, where's Jim harbaugh? I usually don't hate other teams, but I don't like the rival teams like jets pats. But the thug ravens, I hate that team. While this is going on, this is the same team (ravens) that unveiled a Ray Lewis statue I believe. Great organization there.
