To all of you Leinart haters...

Theres a huge difference between college and pro.

Ken Dorsey, Jason White, Danny Wuerffel, Ryan Leaf, Eric Crouch..... All good college QBs but nothing in the NFL.

I dont know where this nonsense of comparing guys like Dorsey, White, Crouch, etc to Leinart comes from. Its silly. NFL Scouts make some mistakes but youre talking about the difference between 7th round or undrafted players (or position changes like Crouch) and a guy that wont get past the 2nd or 3rd pick in the draft. Leinart is without question a legit pro prospect. You think scouts dont see that his arm isnt that awesome? He is extremely accurate, smart and can run an offense he is the real deal. Yea he wont throw 70 yard bombs but he can make all the throws you need to make to be successful in the NFL. These other guys couldnt and thats why they cant make it.

A player can look great in college and then come to the NFL stage and not have the same success. In the NFL every player was a star on their respective college teams. Maybe he'll shine... maybe he wont.
Brady was a 6th rounder.... who woulda thunkit?

Yep

I did not like the way he played under pressure during the game. Yes, besides the last series!

I like Leinart, but why even waste your energy with this post? We're not going to be sniffing the number one or two pick, which is where Leinart is going. We have no chance to get him unless Ricky, Ronnie, Gus, Zach, Taylor, Sam and five other players go down with season-ending injuries in the first quarter of this game, followed by Saban suffering from some weird ailment, which confines him to his bed for the next three months.

Sucks that we were bad in a soft draft year, but that's the way it is. We'll have to get a new QB some other way - just not at the top of the draft.

he does have quite abit of help around him. but he does make some clutch throws. he seems poised, and takes control of the team when he has to. that said, i dont know if any qb is worth trading up for nowadays. just too many misses (look at the david carr, harrington draft) in the first couple rounds. however, i do beleive you have to take your shots, so i actually countered my own point to a certain extent..hmm. bottom line, if were there, and he's there then scoop him up. If hes there, and were close to there, trade is ok, but not the house. and finally, if hes' there and were a distant ways away, then let the bird fly with the flock.

I was comparing Heisman winners thanks. How would you know he can make the throws in the NFL? You don't, period.

okay, but you don't know if ANY QB will make the throws in the NFL. that's why you go with the one that looks the best in college

True, I know this arguement is a lost cause and will be on going til April but to be honest IMO the best QB on the field Saturday was wearing green.

Yeah, that's it ... Leinart is gonna suck! <dripping with sarcasm>
:smackhead

Are some of you people serious?!?!?

If so ... kindly stop wasting my oxygen. You are merely wasting breaths that the more intelligent among us will find a use for later in life. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.

There was another post on the forum about a Ferotte being horrible and a new QB we should draft and I brought up how Leinart definitely doesn't take a hit well and throws lollipop passes aka Pennington IMO. I agree with the fact that Brady Quinn looked pretty good but then again, Weis can make any QB look good such as Brady. Brady was the 3rd string QB at Michigan behind Drew Henson. Yes Leinart is accurate, I will give him that but some of the throws he made against Notre Dame didn't look all that great. I would rather see a more mobile QB like Vince Young in a Phins uniform because a scrambling QB gives that extra dimension for an offense that defenses don't usually look for.

i wouldn't protest to having either on my team. they have just about anything you want in an NFL QB. accurate, makes great decisions (before and after the snap), converts tons of 3rd downs, clutch, good arm strength, good pocket presence....what more do you need?

Yea, I would love to have Quinn.

I say if you watched the Notre Dame/SC game you should have noticed that while still a very good qb Leinert was the second best qb in that game. Brady Quinn will be a more successful pro qb than Leinert, mark my words.
