Todd McShay has us taking Marqise Lee @ 19

Yup, go after another playmaker. That will definitely give RT more time in the pocket... Oh wait...

If that is the pick i'd immediately lose all optimism in Hickey as GM.

Lee would have been top ten if he could have come out pre injury. Dude is going to be a stud. Not saying the fins take him, but I would love to see him in dolphin colors. Either way, I understand we have needs but truth is, if we pull a solid guard or RT out of the draft, we can sign a guy to fill in and be fine. Love the idea of making the offense more explosive.

Lee gets drafted.

Hartline better put up that FOR SALE sign on his house.

Would be thrilled. My favorite receiver behind Sammy.

OBJ and Cooks would also be nice, but Lee gives us more of a Roddy White type of player, which I think this offense needs more of, while OBJ/Cooks gives us Steve Smith.

My thoughts exactly. Either that or he's moved to #3.

A WR corp of Wallace, Lee, Hartline, Matthews, and Gibson would be a QB's dream nonetheless.

Or maybe Wallace and his huge contract might be on it's way out in a year or two if who Miami picks proves to be the real deal.

If a 50+ sack season isn't cause, than we desrve the train wreck that will follow.

It's cause to go get some free agents and take some olineman in the draft if the value is there but not to make absurd reaches that will ultimately leave your team with lesser overall talent.

If not mistaken Hartline contract has the easiest out of the 3 (Wallace, Gibson, Hartline). Toss in that Hartline ROI is terrible.

Where have I advocated a "absurd reach".

The FA route concerning the oline, has been abysmal for many years.
This FO need not repeat recent history. If so, a complete rebuild will be in order, and another 3 years of patience expected.
Maybe this fanbase deserves it?

You implied as much b/c in this mock, the o-linemen that are generally considered 1st round values are gone by 19. And what's the alternative to free agents in our situation?

...I can't believe I'm going to say this but....I'm ok going O-line...if we can't keep Ryan off his wallet...it won't matter who we line up at WR...but I suppose it will come down to who's there at 19

Our new GM has said from the get go that he believes in the philosophy of drafting the best player available. I believe he will go that route come draft day. If the best player available happens to be a WR.....I think he will have no problem taking him!

I have trouble with the idea of picking a player at a position of strength, in the first round and in the deepest class at the position maybe all time. It just seems non-sensical, there's gonna be some great value and talent at the position later and we can fix our more glaring needs in the first round or two.

Like do I see a bigger drop off between:
1. Beckham/Lee/Cooks vs Shazier/Martin/XSF
2. Moncrief/Matthews/Robinson/Latimer vs Bradford/James/?
3. Bryant/Coleman/Richardson vs Smith/Mewhort/T. Turner

If you wanna take a WR the earliest I'd start looking is round 2. Round 2 I think we can get a big body guy, same with round 3 which is what I think we need most.
