Do you guys think tony bua would be a goodfit at free safety i mean he has decent speed i heard(i know hes faster than brock marion or sammy knight was)and he is a knockout hitter, which i love,,,,but do you guys think he would be better than tillman at fs?

The knock on him in college was that he was a little too slow for the safety position, although he switched positions because of injuries to other teammates, and played well there. Wanny wanted him as a LB (the typical undersized, quick, not necessarily fast LB), but if he is to make Saban's team it'll have to be as a ST ace or safety..he is definitely not the proto-typical LB that Saban looks for.

If Bua starts at FS get ready for each of these pictures on a reglar basis: Bua desperately grabbing a jersey as a throughbred receiver races past him; the back of Bua's jersey at the 10 yard line while the receiver crosses the goal line in the instances Bua failed to grab the jersey.

Special teams wow guy. Could be a decent red zone SS. Again, I have no idea why teams don't specialize on defense as much as offense. DBs who can hit and cover but lack pure speed should be utilized more often inside their own red zone. I guess there's not enough roster space for that in many cases, but especially if you've got a tall guy who can cover but lacks top speed he definitely would match up better in your own end zone than a fast little guy.

I don't think Tony Bua has the talent or knowledge to play FS, let alone starting FS. I think he lacks the speed and pass coverage that it would take to play FS. I thought him at SS was a bit of a reach, but he can tackle and he's got good speed FOR A LB and not that good of speed for a S. He lacks size which is why he got moved from LB. I personally think Bua is a Larry Izzo-type Special Teams demon and not much more. I wouldn't mind having him at possibly back-up or third string SS, but anything more than that might be asking for too much. I hope we leave him at Special Teams because that's where he excells. If we had to play him anywhere it most likely be SS over LB or any other position, but I wouldn't want him starting anywhere as of now...
