Tony Sparano hints he’d prefer home games be played on Sundays at 1

I am glad Tony is calling out Ross.

Ross is a complete loser for an owner.

Between the 1pm games and forcing the team to go see a play, he sucks as an owner.

Get the heck out of the way, Ross. IF you want your stadium filled....have a winning team.

Er, Ross does not have anything to do with making the NFL schedules and had nothing to do with this opening game. We were chosen to play NE opening game. The NFL and Networks chose this game to , in their opinion, showcase NE on the first Monday night game of the season. Love the knowlege and levity around this place.

If we lose because the other team doesn't have to worry about weather, we have many more problems than our home schedule.

Errr...yes he does. Read the article. He has requested our early home games be at times that are "coolest" for the fans...hence the Houston game being at 415. When was our first home game last year?

The NFL has granted him his wishes. SO he does not make the sked, but he has obviously has a major influence.

You are welcome for the knowledge and levity.

BTW, why do you think that Tony essentially called out his owner in his presser about the times of the games? You got to be kidding me that you are defending Stephen Ross and this FO.

I don't see Robert Kraft asking the league to schedule mostly road games for New England in DEC/JAN so fans won't have to travel to the stadium in such conditions.

Great point.

Think how the Buffalo Bills used their rugged home field advantage in the 90's to secure wins. The wind, snow, sleet, rain and freezing weather was brutal to watch games in. However, they had a winning product and the fans showed in that crap to watch their team.

Exactly, some teams have Wind, Snow, Freezing Temps, and even High Altitude for their homefield advantage and Miami has the heat which they are neglecting to use. Opponents breath a sigh of relief when they look at their schedule and see they don't have a 1pm road game in Miami during SEP/OCT. Just like many here hope Miami doesn't have any road games in New England or Buffalo in DEC/JAN

The irony is Ross is doing this because the Miami fans don't show up if the team isn't Super Bowl bound, therefore Ross tries to make it more "comfortable" for them. Take the Bills, they suck, yet if you go to Buffalo I doubt if you'll find half the stadium full of the opposing team fans. I'm sure Ross had complaints about the fans thinkings its too hot. I agree the Dolphins home games should be at 1 in sept/oct but Ross wouldnt be trying to find ways to sell tickets if the Dolphins fans were supporting their team as well as most teams get supported.

Lol, that's because no one goes to retire in Buffalo.

Ya'll can have fun sitting in the heat. I sit in section 115 year in and year out and get POUNDED by that summer sun. Not enjoyable. I'm watching a sport for entertainment.

I read the full excerpt from where this is taken from and this is just stirring a pot where Sparano said nothing of the sort. They asked him about home field advantage, and he said it will be there, just not as much as if it were at 1 PM, which anyone with half a brain could say is true because everyone knows what summer is like in Miami.

How can any fan not admit that playing in 95-100 degree heat is a lot worse for a team from New England than playing in relatively moderate night weather which, I might add, is probably a lower temperature than many teams have practiced in during TC. Throw in that we were white at home in the day while the opponent has to wear colored uniforms, and that's a huge advantage we lose.

Just remember, the opposing team actually has to play in that heat, which is much more inconvenient for them.
