Coach Tony Sparano said Sunday his players, who have only two practice sessions before heading to Atlanta on Thursday, won’t be treating this as a normal game week. In fact, they’ll be all but ignoring what the Falcons will do on both offense and defense.

“We’re not going to prepare at all for Atlanta,” Sparano said. “We’re just going to go down there and decide what we want to run and get a look at some things. It’s going to be hard to use these early pre-season games as anything other than a chance to see some players and get them some work.”

In before the haters bash Sparano for this, even though nobody ever gameplans for a preseason game.

that's fine, what can we expect, they just finally got everyone in camp.

No big deal ... if nothing else, as long as they dont take it super-seriously, we wont have "drastic injuries" to worry about.

I doubt Atlanta prepares for us either? With such a limited workout for all teams little can be done but show up and play.

who prepairs for a preseason game? its all about seeing what we have and what we need to work on

It makes a good headline to try and make Sparano look bad, but yeah I imagine no one would be preparing for week 1 of the preseason like it is anything more then a scrimmage against another team.

It's preseason, in an offseason that was cut short, and you have a new Offensive Coordinator. Yeah I'm fine with just focusing on our own stuff, especially on offense. I would be surprised if they didn't for the falcons atleast a little on defense. But hey untill the games actually matter I couldn't care any less about our game week prep for specific teams.

what would you game plan for anyway? They could be making some changes to their system...I have to think they're going to run different plays with Julio than with Michael Jenkins.

well I agree but what makes this any different than not preparing for NE last year lol

ANyone know if the game will be televised outside of the Miami area? I remember last year I signed up for some preseason package for like $20 and got all the games.
