Tony Sparano says Dolphins ‘won’t prepare at all for Atlanta’ Friday night

yea ok hell u might get your wish well score wise . Atlanta's offense is way better than ours

Well, the game results are unimportant IMO, -but since you chose to go there, I guess that's one way to look at it.. another is that our total D was ranked only a notch below Green Bay's (and a helluva lot higher than Atlanta's) and we know what happened the last time those 2 met. :3w:

kind of similar to what happened when we last met NE with a damn good defense and theirs was still developing touche. defensively they are much higher ranked than we are offensively. we have a top 10 defesne with a bottom dweller offense they have a top offense with a a more mid range defense. Thye added a major weapon to their offense while we just exchanged pieces . You are correct though its just preseason. regular season and u don think we will be better than atlanta

i say bull$#1% they are preparing
you always play to win regardless what you are playing..

this is just cover if they get smacked around..
Im sure the players are preparing they have ego and pride on the line
and job security for bubble players..

I think they have a certain outcome they wanna see
like can the 1st string offense move the ball and score a touchdown..
Can the backups fill in if needed..is JT going to be effective..
how will Daniel thomas run and pass protect?
Will henne be able to hit on a few deep patterns?
Is clyde going to create miss match problems and make the other receivers more open?
How will bush impact the offense when he can take a checkdown and turn it into a big gain?
We will also get an idea how duball will call plays and how different he is from henning
Will duball call any wildcat plays? Will Sparano fist pump?
How will the backup quarterbacks be giving plays?
will they let the backup qbs loose and see what they got or just handoff most of the time?

first and second preseason games are more important for the fringe roster guys trying to make the team anyways. Only preseason game that people normally take seriously in the 3rd. Hell the Colts normally don't play Manning at all in the preseason.

Shouldn't be too big of a deal. Our biggest concern will probably be Gonzalez

12. Trade draft pick for a career underachiever/backup at QB for more "competition" at the position.
13. Make starters play entirely too much, and have atleast one starter go down long term against the other teams back ups.

If we had a established OC, system and QB that might make sense. I am all for being vanilla on D, but our O meds some reps.

I hope fans don't have too much of a kneejerk reaction after failing to see our new and improved offense. I'm hoping they don't show much of it - might as well use last year's playbook, lol.

This isn't any different than pre-season in any other year.

good tony...not preparing for the opposition in the preseason opener should be a no brainer...i wouldn't show them much of the new offense either...don't want teams to get any idea whats coming

problem is we don't have enough reps due to the lockout to do anything but work on our new o in this opener probably

I'd almost prefer to not have a gameplan. It will likely leave more freedom and flexibility with substitutions. I feel that often times the idea of playing your entire 1st team offense together and then subbing then for your entire 2nd team doesn't always make much sense. For example, if you are the 3rd string running back, your blocking is going to be from 3rd string guys. Granted the argument is, it's backups against backups, so quality should show no matter what. But if your 2nd string Oline is total crap...well, you get the point.

The lack of a game plan makes me think that we might see some different guys playing in different groups.

No reason to game plan. Just need to go out and see some players making reads and adjustments on the fly. Could help Henne develop some more.
