top 3 TE in Dolphin history??

Keith Jackson, dude was a beast. His name recognition was built in PHI, but he looked and played the part once in Miami.

I would say his name recognition was built at Oklahoma. He was more dominate in college than he was in the NFL. Actually as far as name recognition goes he will always be known as the "other Keith Jackson."

Charles Clay had potential to be better than McMichael but Randy was better and for longer. It's sad Marino got stuck with Troy Drayton.

Crash goes in!

He was listed as a tight end and that was "his position".

Everything else went from there - QB option, H back, Fullback, blocking TE...

Just my opinion - I like your list though - it seemed right.

I agree about Hardy - he was very reliable - and versatile.
you are probably right on Crash. He would go no 2 on that list IMO. As far as overall contribution he was probably more valuable to the team than just about anyone not named Marino back then. What a player. Also was a ST stud. Imagine having him on the team today. Oh the options!

I think mandich and fleming were excellent.Crash Jensen was in a world of his on.He was good at many things.

I don't really agree. Clay is a natural receiver but to my memory McMichael was more athletic. One thing Clay had that not many do is a Ronnie Brown-like resiliency and ability to shed tacklers in the open field. It's really hard to compare the two production-wise because Clay was a featured target in one of the most pass-heavy offenses in an extremely pass heavy league. McMichael played on an extremely run based team for a lot of his time. He also played for some laughable QB's.

I only really include clay because of wet dreams I had including him and Jordan Cameron on either side of the tackles, maybe Cameron split out wide a bit... so many red zone tds and first downs

I hope Gase can finally "unleash" this position. As talented as Clay was, his utilization was inconsistent. Cameron is injury prone, but also last year I think he was a bit of a head case with drops. Again Gase comes from offenses, where the TE was very effective, esp in the redone

In 2013 Thomas had 65 catches, 788 yards and 12 TD's. He had 12 TD's. 90 targets
In 2014, 43 catches, 489 yards and 12 TD's again. 62 targets.

In 2015 Miller/Bennett 88 catches (126 targets) 880 yards and 8 TD's

Thomas came out of nowhere, and I am hoping that he can get Cameron unleashed, but also Sims or Stoneburner can also come out of nowhere (at least one)

Most dominant Keith Jackson ( too short Dolphin career)
Best pass catcher. Bruce Hardy
Best Blocker. Marv Fleming
Best personality Jim Mad Dog Mandich
Honorable mention Randy McMichael

Man I would sure love one of my those big play hi production guys. Cameron has the talent he should get off in Gases system from everything I read.

1. Keith Jackson by far
2. Jim Mandich
3. Bruce Hardy (so underrated - could block when we were a running team and could catch and score when we were a passing team)
4. Joe Rose
5. Ferrel Edmonds
6. Charles Clay
7. Randy McMichael
8. Dan Johnson
9. Eric Green

Not putting Crash Jensen in there because it's debatable what he was! He was awesome at everything but I'm not sure to pigeon-hole him as a TE is right. However, if we must I'd put him no 2 after Jackson based on all-round contribution.

My list would look a lot like this one. Well done royalshank.
