Top 5 keepers?

1-Pouncey-gonna be a very good center for years to come and hard to come by.
2-Marshall-This guys a beast,easily a top 12 wr
3-Long-As long as he is fully healthy hes no doubt a top 3 LT
4-Fields-Excellent punter great start for ST's
5-V.Davis-very good CB as long as he drinks lots of water.

It amazes me how many people list Daniel Thomas as someone for the franchise to build around. He seems like he has some potential to be a good pick, but at this point all he's done is run dive plays up the middle from passing formations in 2 games. He's been hurt more than he's been healthy, had a huge fumble that very well could have cost us that game. He might have all the potential in the world, but what has he shown so far that makes him top 5?

Every week I watch other teams rb's move the pile, break tackles, stiff arm defenders and carry them 8 yards down the field making them look like a fool (sean smith). Yeah he might be the real deal. Gates, Charles Clay, Jimmy Wilson might all be superstars as well, but until they show something- seems premature to label anyone as a franchise type player through 4 games.

Long
Pouncey
Thomas
Davis
Marshall

I'm just not sold on Marshall being traded. His attitude is a lot better than Denver. The only problem he had was the stabbing and he did not get charged at all and obviously it was the girl because like two months after it he had a restraining order on her and she broke it. So attitude is not that bad of a problem. His hands have been inconsistent but I have a feeling if he gets a new coach and a good QB then everything will be fine. He proved in the past he can catch but you really cant judge last year in hennings offense and you definatly can't this year since pretty much the whole team is playing pretty bad

Enough to put him in the very small group of players who are both young and show promise. Of those there may not be many, if any, more than five.

That right there just shows how much the Dolphins SUCK.

Not that we needed anymore evidence or anything to prove our sucktitude.

The problem with who to keep is that you really don't know what potential you have. This regime does a horrible job at developing players.

Bobby Carpenter is the latest former Fin to have picked up his game and produce elsewhere. Let that sink in a minute.

To be fair two regimes have given up on the guy. Carpenter did not play well and was a victim of getting drafted way too high.

Yup. Two regimes. Dallas and Miami.

I mean how long do u give a player to develop. Now i do think this regime has wasted draft picks by not at least giving them a chance to develop. Carenter has not exactly turned into a stud in Detroit but he is contributing

Carpenter is just the latest example of guys that get cut from Miami and catch on with another team. He doesn't need to be a stud just be effective and that is what he is doing.

I don't think you can put a time line on player development when it is buffoons that are trying to develop him. Parcells drafted him and his boys couldn't make him effective in Dallas. He follows Parcells to Miami and it's the same problem. He moves to Detroit and in 2 months Gunther Cunningham has him playing really well. He doesn't look confused the way he did here and in Dallas. Hell, the Lions even put a helmet on him that doesn't make him look like Barney Rubble.
