Top Five Phins Additions for 2014?

Surprised there is no love for Hickey, after all he is the one who has "bought the groceries." So I would go

Hickey
Lazor
Benton
Albert
James

Just picking players:

Albert
James
Moreno
Landry
Mitchell

1. Lazor
2. Albert
3. Landry I think in 2 or 3 years he'll be our most dependable wr.
4. James
5. Benton

1- Albert: Biggest hole on the teams in any way, shape, or form more so then coaches or front office staff.
2- Lazor: I think Sherman blew some games last year with bad play calling.
3- Hickey: Ireland needed to be replaced and i like how hickey works with philban.
4- James:needed a RT just as mush as a LT
5- Dufner: I think he will get the personnel working as they should at LB

Lazor
Benton
Dufner
Albert
Delmas

Coaching improvements have to be ranked over player improvements, imo. They can influence the entire team with positive adjustments and top of the list is Lazor, who can only improve on Henningosaurus and Shermanotaur. Within the offense, we have an o-line coach who can actually coach, unlike his predecessor who was outcoached by Bryant McKinnie.
Ditto Dufner on the defensive side. LB was a horror show - which COyle and Rodgers had a part to play in with their overelaborate scheming.

Albert - for obvious reasons - is the first player listed. If you don't have a LT, then you better go get one.

Finally, Delmas. I'd like him to be successful and play well, but most of all I'm looking forward to him (and Finnegan tbh) putting a little passion and fire into our defense and hopefully the team in general. We've been physical but somewhat tame and certainly uninspired the last few seasons. I'm looking to Delmas as a bit of a lightning rod for the passion we're lacking (and spark off the other new players Hickey brought in who all seem to have that fire to play). I think that's a hugely important ingredient in a team sport - especially a contact sport.

While most are loving the new coaches, how much credit does Philbin get for bringing them in? I wonder how many coaches he wanted turned him down when he first got here, with the Harbough mess when he first got here, and how much he wanted to replace the coaches he did.

My Top Five:

1. Lazor
2. James
3. Albert
4. Landry
5. Addition by subtraction: John Martin and No Sherman

I'm pretty sure Sherman was Philbin's first choice as OC. That meant our QB coach came in tow. I can't speak about the other position coaches. Getting Coyle was seen as a coup so I'm fairly confident that he was one of Philbin's preferred choices as well. The defensive position coaches all seem well respected also.

It definitely seems as though adding Lazor and Benton were widely praised selections as well and both clearly had other options. All in all, it seems like Philbin has great respect amongst the coaching community and has been very effective recruiting staff.

Looking at his record it has been inconsistent, but his teams have shown the ability to beat almost anyone. We outplayed New England twice last year and if the refs were fair we would have had an extra win and made the playoffs. We had victories over most of the AFC playoff teams.

While we haven't won the division or even secured a playoff spot yet, many of the best and most important indicators point to Philbin being a success long term ... but that means nothing if we underperform and he is fired 9 months from now.

Lazor was my top pick for the list and 3 of my 5 were coaches. I really think that we finally have enough talent to be a good team.

Our weakest spots are OL, TE, LB, and CB, but overall those weaknesses are less weak than last year. Our young QB finally has enough experience to get his feet under him.

Now it's all up to the coaches, IMHO.

Sent from my phone, so please forgive any typos.

Lazor
Benton
Albert
Moreno
James

Coaching will make a huge difference. Then add the tackles and a new reliable RB.

1. Landry (I hope he turns out to be Anquan 2.0)
2. Albert (If he stays healthy we wont be worried about the blindside)
3. Lazor (If he can get Ryan to operate as efficiently as Nick Foles, were in good shape)
4. Moreno (Versatile, passionate, and can get you 4 yards when you need it. Huge impact)
5. Hickey ( He has had his hand in the pot with churning this roster, if it pans out he deserves 80%of the credit)
