Toub

Please don't tell me how I should think. Thanks.

So I am saying of who they interviewed that I like Toub the most, call the police that must mean I am a homer. Of course I should hate every candidate they interview and have absolutley nothing positive to say, because that is what hooshoops wants and preaches. I can only like candidates that have not been interviewed or are not hired. If I like Chud, I have to hate him if they bring him in for an interview, because that's the hooshoops way. Even though Toub PROBABLY won't be hired, I shouldn't have anything positive to say about him because that obviously makes me a homer. Everyone should join on hooshoops "Everything Sucks Train".

Man, now I see the light!

Him being your guy is one thing. Acting like he's god send and a far better candidate than Mike Zimmer? That's homerism at its finest.

It seems to be a position that deals with everything from effective personnel selection and deployment, often making use of the best of the rest, blocking schemes, formation strategies etc, like a mini HC. He's also in a unique position to work with both the offensive and defensive assets. When Ozzie passed up the known DC in Fatso to get John Harbaugh who was also an ST coach, many thought he was nuts running the risk of losing an effective coordinator. Turns out he wasn't. Let's see how well the Jets ST performs now that Westhoff is calling it quits.. should be interesting.

All that said, Toub came out of nowhere, is far from my first choice, but the success of Harbaugh makes it it easier to not arbitrarily dismiss this possibility out of hand as being ridiculous or inappropriate IMO.

So if the special teams coach is like a mini head coach how come teams dont look at them as head coaches. Im not dismissing special teams coaches but everyone knows its a stepping stone job you either move up to another coaching position or you stay a special teams coach. I think there is a good reason why teams dont look to this coaching position when it comes to head coaching the people making these decisions understand thats its not the coaching position that you look for for your head coach and many of these people making these decisions are ex football players and coaches. There is a reason that special teams coaches do not get paid as much as coordinators and some other position coaches.

Never said he was far better than any of the other candidates. Just said I personally liked him better than the other candidates. Not sure how me liking a Bears coach better than say a Bengals coach is considered homerism. Please explain. Wouldn't homerism be me supporting a guy like Todd Bowles who is actually currently tied to the Dolphins? Not sure how I can be a "homer" in reference to a guy on another NFL team that realistically probably won't get the Dolphins job. Come on houtz, that is a bit of a reach to try and slap that label on me. I expect it from someone like hooshoops, but not you man.

i could care less who you like nubs as candidates...you just find positives in everything...i don't choose to do things that way...you don't like that i said it TOUGH

you couldn't end ****...

If you didn't care, you wouldn't have mentioned it. I could easily say you find the negativity in everything, and we both know that to be true. I don't like what you said, because it was an unnecessary shot. I am ending it, and it ends now, this doesn't need to turn ugly.

no matter who we bring in now though for an interview they all have to know that you better be more than willing to work with jeff ireland...if not no need to even apply...the jeff fisher thing told everyone that this is jeff irelands world your only lucky to be in it...if you get the job

so i at least look for someone obscure and off the radar likely and willing to bend to whatever irelands demands are by the time this things all said and done...i can't see a dominant personallity meshing

What I take from the Jeff Fisher thing is that Ross is not willing to hand over the keys to his football world to one guy; A guy who was fired from his job last season. HC's should stick to baking the cake and let the GM stick to buying the groceries. Ross said "Stay in your lane Fisher!", and I agree with him.

i don't think i find the negativity in everything...not at all...but yeah i guess it did come off as a unnecessary shot...

well bears management and coaches passed him over for assistant head coach but what do they know. how does anyone know that fisher believes the world owes him he just was in demand. of course toub would love the job esp since no other team is interviewing him for head coach
Bowles has been assistant head coach and you stil think he needs to prove something before becoming head coach...

ok go ahead and agree...but realize that just about any big name or established head coach thats worth his salt is gonna want to do things his way as in bring in his own people and as long as ross continues to not let that happen we won't be getting any big name/established head coach...these guys all of them have massive egos and they need to be massaged or they'll take their ball and go home...it just is what it is...

So basically, they want a Jeff Ireland *** licker.

By homer I meant find a positive in everything. I'm in complete and utter depression and just ranting. I apologize for being frustrated. I just want our team to do something right. No more negative posts from me v
