I didn't see a thread for this particular possibility; I would like to gauge the support of such a proposition.

Supposing that the Colts do, in fact, draft Luck with the 1st overall pick, and supposing that they feel comfortable enough with him to place arguably their greatest player on the block, would the Dolphins consider making a move? If so, would they be wise to do so?

This situation is hypothetical so don't attack me. I'm just curious as to what everyone's reaction to such a move would be. I would personally be ecstatic over such a move, a move that would cost significantly less (probably) than trading for the 1st overall pick. It would provide us with a win-now mentality.

My understanding is that the Colts would release Peyton and not sign and trade him. From what I heard, the Colts would have a $38 million cap hit if they trade him.

If Peyton is healthy and the Colts decide to re-boot for Andy Luck, then it very well may be that Peyton Manning will become a free agent. I also believe that one Jeff Fisher and Peyton have a good relationship. They were in the same division for about a decade and Fisher has been effusive in his praise for Peyton. Everyone remembers Fish wearing the 18 jersey under his shirt. I'd think that Peyton has a healthy respect for Fish as well.

This thread seems like it gets started every couple of days, no offense. To answer your question though, I do not personally think it wise to trade anything for an aging QB who has had neck problems to the extent that he missed a full season.

For the 1,000,000,000,000th time, PEYTON CANNOT BE TRADED!! He has to be cut or he stays with Indy. TRADE is impossible! Cant' happen. No chance of happening.None. Nada. Nilch. ZERO! Will not occur!

Payton gets cut we bring him in for three days and have ten different surgeons/doctors look at him and then decide.

Rather see Moore and Tannehill compete (or RG3 if we get lucky and can trade up)

I think Payton is damaged goods. Everytime I saw him on the sideline with his neck craining out there, it seemed like he could not hold his own neck up. Also, didn't he have a Fusion surgery? After that you loose a lot of lateral neck movement, not good for a QB.

But, if (BIG IF) he can prove he is healthyI am all for signing him.

If Peyton is released, YES I want him....

How exactly did his neck get injured. I've never seen the guy get hit. Did he do it while working out or something.

If the Colts release him, then definitely go after him! With a solid ground game to back him up, and a top 10 defense, it would extend his career without everything having to be constantly on his shoulders.
