The Superbowl is definitely the ultimate goal but since we are not a bonified contender why start our starting QB and risk injury. Since we are not a bonidied contender why not tank the season from the get-go and not risk any of our starters until we think we have all the pieces in place to make us a bonifide Superbowl contender.
Going by the philosophy of being a bonafide Superbowl contender 3/4 of the league should tank the season and play for the title of the suckiest team.
Your reason of not being a bonafide Superbowl contender is as absurd as the notion that once Tannehill would be out with an injury we should just tank the season.
We don't have a great shot at winning a superbowl as it is, but that shot reduces even further with the starting QB out. Ultimately, I watch the games because it is weekly entertainment, whether I expect them to win or lose, it doesn't matter - I will watch.
I am just approaching this thing from a pragmatic standpoint. If Moore had some more untapped upside, I would agree that it would be important to keep him around, but since I don't believe he does, it doesn't really matter to me whether he is the backup, or some guy like Quinn is the backup, because in the end if Tannehill goes down, the results will be the same with either Moore or Quinn - no playoffs, no superbowl. At least with Quinn, there is an opportunity for no playoffs + higher draft pick.
