Traded for then cut

It seems odd that we would make the trade with the bears for Owens because he was a great blocker then cut him.It also seems odd one bad game would put Feeley in the dog house possibly on the way out.

I sure hope he knows what he is doing, being a season ticket holder from maryland gets awlful exspensive to watch a football coach make moves that seem to have no ryme or reason.

If wanny had done this we would have tried to railroad him out here myself included.

Im not worried it always gets worse before it gets better.I dont think Feeley should even be on the team.I still think he may get cut.Gus sucks as well.I think we really should have looked for a better qb this last offseason.Thats the only thing i dont understand.Saban had to no Gus and A.J wasnt the answer.Alot of people on here new.Why didnt we look for a better qb?

Then why didn't he trade Gordon to Philly? I don't buy the crap about them not offering enough. A second day draft pick for someone who is about to get cut is enough for me!

What we don't know is what the conditional pick will be. What are the conditions? Does it have to do with Abandajo (sp?) making the team? Will it be the same or potentially better than what Philly offered? Time will tell. I agree that it is always good to get something and hopefully we will get something from Chicago.

I agree, anything is better than nothing. though I have to believe we tried to trade him. I think teams probably figured out he was going to be cut and decided to wait us out. It really wouldn't make sense otherwise. Philly also has the shrewdest front office in the nfl. They field a high level team, stay way under the cap, and always find quality replacements for stars who have outgrown the team/ their contracts. We're definietly not going to pull one over them, even though it would give us some redemption for AJ.

Yea..a 7th would of been better than nothing..

as i recall

as recall, the finheaven headline stated Phili was inquiring about a trade for Gordon, but Saban was demanding at least a 6th rnd pick. That means that phili was offering a 7th. I hate the eagles as much as the next guy, but they will do well. Their 7th will be pretty close to Mr. Irrelevant. #1, that is a virtually wothless pick. #2, it is sometimes worth it to stick to your guns, even if you take a small loss, just to maintain you're integrity. That's how we got the 2nd for Surtain, and Phili is now very much aware Saban will not cavelike Wann-Speil.

I don't think it was the bad game for feeley that set him back to third, it was the play of sage that put him into 2nd.

good point. the eagles 7th round pick is really no different than an undrafted free agent. i mean, i guess i would still rather have the pick, but it isn't really much of an offer.

For one thing we didnt lose a thing when Saban cut Gordon he was released because he sucked. Gordon had no value to get anything good in return. We got better RB's on the team. Minor and Morris are better than he is. Saban is putting his foot down and getting rid of slackers.
