Trading for Harringon could cost us big (Any opinions?)

There is absolutly no way in hell that Saban is going to trade a third or fourth for Harrington. The highest I would go is two seventh round picks. Millen aparently does not understand that he cannot play the hardass game with Nick Saban

I think it would great to draft someone like Omar Jacobs to have has our 2nd string QB instead of always getting these "hand me down" QBs from other teams. But the fact is that Daunte may not be ready for the beginning of the season, and we need a QB with NFL experience to take over for him if that is the case.

I dont like spending a draft pick, but if its a necessary evil for us to win, then so be it.

I say we should have kept R. Davey, he would have be a a back up that could have got us thru untill C'pep is ready to come back. He was the back up for T. Brady, MVP in the Eup. league once, and also played under Saban. He was once cut from the phins prob bcs of cap, but they should contact this guy.

a fourth rounder for joey harrington??????? what is wrong with all of you? the guy has been a complete joke his entire career and we are going to throw a 4th rounder at him. that is almost as bad as when we threw a 2nd rounder at a.j. feeley. He might have experience, but he sucks. i would like talent over experience. even with all his experience, he still throws some of the dumbest passes ive ever seen

I reiterate again: just because Detroit DEMANDS a third or fourth right now doesn't mean they're going to get it.

If a shop owner starts charging 5 dollars for bags of candy corn, and nobody buys it, will he not bring the price down?

They're going to have to cut him by June to avoid the roster bonus, and they don't want to do that because then they'll get no compensation. So eventually they're going to settle.

why did we get rid if Sage???? he was cheap and decent

we didn't get "rid" of him, he signed as a free agent elsewhere.

I wouldn't have a problem with giving up a 7th for Harrington, or maybe even a 7th and next year's 6th if we knew our 3rd string QB was trash...but we don't know much about Cleo...what if we do spend a 6th and a 7th on Harrington and Lemon just beats him in training camp/pre-season? That'd just be a waste...why not just draft Omar Jacobs midway through the draft and see if either steps up? Jacobs can't be THAT much worse than Harrington (could maybe even be better) and he'd only cost one pick...any opinions?

That's a great point, couldn't agree more. But what happens if Culpepper isn't ready til midseason? Do we want to trust our season to an unproven back-up? I would feel better if we added a veteran back-up, someone who could get us through the first few games without too much carnage - maybe Fiedler again, Martin, etc...
