I voted for the CBs.

Normally you'd take the QB race. But I'm not expecting a whole lot out of that. :(

I voted the same why because right now it's really anyone's job. I hope Daniels takes over because neither other player is the longterm answer.

Great post. I'm also interested in the DT battle with some of the young guys like Romero and Vickerson in the mix.
I hope we add Manuel Wright to that mix

Excellent unique thread. I'm interested in the responses.

But I'm not as concerned with individual batttles as the quality of player who emerges. We desperately need more blue and red chip players if we are serious about contending for anything. It really doesn't matter who wins the OLB spot if they're mediocre and earmarked to be replaced. Likewise I'm not as focused on the QB battle because I think it's obvious what someone posted yesterday; the QB of the future is not on the roster.

I'll be looking at the linemen who could become special players, like Roth and Carey and Hadnot and maybe a rejuvenated McDougle. You're never going to win anything significant without athletic linemen and a QB who can get the ball downfield.

I'm going to twist it a bit.

I do like the premise of the battles, but for me, I'm much more interested in a battle like Matt Roth vs Stocker McDougall. It already started in mini camps, and it's the one thing that really caught my eye. Roth never gives up, and Stock is determined to show his worth.

But that's just me.

No brainer for me; Im anxious to see just how hard Dbo has been training and rehabbing and if indeed he can beat out booker. If he does im sure it wont be because of lack of effort from booker cause he strikes me as an effort guy.

The other 2 im looking forward to are the FS battle and Careyvs Dmac. i think Carey and Travares (if no schulters) win those spots.

Quite frankley im sick of the qb stuff; i just want to find a starter and ill support that guy theres a reason not to do so this year. As you all know i prefer gus but thats neither here nor there in thsi thread.

i dont think Rw vs RB is really a debate. RB is starting cause RW is suspended for 4 games and has to get into game shape.

Carter/Roth isnt a debate really; its goingt o depend on whether Carter plays inside or outside.

I'm curious to see the RB battle. It looks like we will have to cut one very talented RB. Minor is gone for sure--and thats a good thing. Everything I hear about Kay-jay Harris is what a stud he is. Obviously Ronnie will make the team and RW is as close as a lock as can be. So who gets cut Lamar Gordon, who we gave up a 3rd pick for or Kay-Jay Harris who looks to be keeper, although its very early. Its amazing how the Dolphins have gone through cycles of boom and bust in the RB dept. Before Ricky we had no running game, then Ricky tore it up for two years, then last year, nothing, and this year we look to be loaded again.

I'm most interested in seeing the starter that emerges between Boston and Booker. Both have great potential and im anxious to see the Dolphins have a dominant #2 reciever for once. It's been awhile. I must admit as much as I like Booker, im pulling for Boston to prove the doubters wrong.

the LBs intrigue me.

Saban should know about Moore, and he obviously drafted Crowder and signed Spragan. I don't think Pope is even in the battle tbh.

ultimately I think Crowder could well get the nod, I'm very hyped about him tbh.

It's especially intriguing this year because of the fact that we have many new faces (or faces that weren't on the field last year that figure to at least get a good opportunity this year) and that we have new coaches and offensive and defensive philosophy. The CB and Safety spots are very interesting, but so is the starting OL and of course, the QB battle and how exactly are all the DEs going to get played. Who will be a standup OLB that is now a DE and which DE/DT will be playing in the interior of the line this year ? I voted Carey versus DMac because I feel that DMac will have a better year (being a year removed from his ankle surgery, a particularly difficult injury for an OL). I also feel that Carey will get a REAL shot to prove he was worth the 19th pick as well (a little more experience and HH will make a big difference in his play)...But all of the matchups look a little differently exciting this year because of the change in scheme and coaching...

me too:)

Other.......... the battle between Speilman's guys and Saban's guys. :)

Great post!!!!

Although there will be many a great challenges on the defense, I think the quarterback battle will be the most important.

Excellent Post and first reply! I think the QB battle is the most important for us. We looked to have good talent at Tailback this season.

Does anyone know if we could list Kayjay as a Fullback?
