Training camp

I guess I'm the only one who thinks a rookie should be in camp on day 1. No matter what the position is QB,RB,OL,DL,DB I think rookies need to be in camp as soon as possible. They have much to learn.

I agree with you. They need to learn how to be professional football players. Everyone of them says the same thing that the biggest difference in the game up in the pros is the speed. RB needs to get up to speed.

You are not the only one that believes that a rookie should be iin camp, no matter what position he plays. I certainly want Ronnie to be payed well since he is the future. But he and all rookies have much to learn and need camp. Running back is a reactive position so he may not need all of the class time. But he does need every minute of field work with the offense that he can get.

Im a little bit disappointed in his agent but i dont think that its a big deal that he misses part of training camp.

Hes only gonna miss part of it right because u guys are making it sound like hes gonna miss the hole thing.

Calm down, tons of picks miss afew days of trainging camp. Its what he produces on the field that Im worried about.

I'm not disappointed about Brown's agent at all. He sounds like he knows his job. From the publicity Brown has gotten, it also looks like he knows his job. Brown is a RB -- he's not really going to need the camp he misses like a QB or a WR would. The best case scenario is that Smith signs easily and Brown follows suit quickly. I don't think we can bemoan the agent for doing his job and not being willing to look like a schmuck for getting far less than the first rounder got just to appease the Dolphins.

While I don't bemoan his agent, as he is doing what is best for his client, I dissagree that a good start in TC is not important to him. As a rookie, it is more imperative that he attend than a veteran. The key here is that he needs to be 100% ready to go for the first game, as he'll be our guy in the RB position. (RW will be suspended for the first 4 games).

That said, RB is, as you said, a less important position for TC than other skilled positions. The one thing that Brown might miss with a holdout, however, is his part in the passing game and his timing with the QBs. That will be a major part of his being "ready" for the first game as Linehan will certainly have him very involved in the passing game, given his receiving skills, speed and open field running ability. So, this was a long-winded way of saying that it is probably a bit more important for Brown to be in camp on time than say, Caddy in Tampa, etc....
